Fair, I think it’s more an issue of Berkshire being one of the best landmarks in the game (especially at a pro level) that it is hard to compete.

It is for sure a great landmark but if you want to see the wynguard palace and the units be part of the game, Wynguard needs a redesign/rework.

I don’t think Wynguard palace will ever be part of the game unless Berkshire is changed or nerfed, unless it becomes game-breakingly overpowered. That or if siege becomes stronger at dealing with keeps/berkshire.

Wynguard will 100% be part of the game if it gets a useful rework/redesign. Berkshire is not the problem here.

For comparison: French players also tend to go for Art. School in some situations instead of Red Palace.

Even if Wyrnguard became like a top 10 strongest landmark, it wouldn’t get picked. It’s the same thing with French and HRE. No matter what they do, Red Palace/Swabia will always be picked unless the other landmark gets a win the game button.

Red Palace and Berkshire and Swabia are easily top 5 best landmarks in the game. It’s almost impossible for anything to compete with them, and any landmark that makes military units will never compare.

You can still use the Wynguard Palace after. I´m just saying that it is too sad to see English having 2 really cool unique units, that never see any play (in high elo / tournaments), due to its wonder not being useful at its current state. Also, for example, other civs like Delhi or Abbasid, whose Man-at-Arms are not unique either, have better stats and perform better with all ups than English ones in late game. For comparison, use this website: Explorer – AoE4 World. Them being better should not be the case, because Delhi and Abbasid focus on other (unique) Units like camels and elephants. Do not get me wrong, i do not mind Delhi and Abbasid having good Man-at-Arms, my point is that English Man-at-Arms feel underwhelming in late game compared to others. Therefore, Wynguard footman would make a perfect late game Man-at-Arm for the English. Keep in mind that those units will only unlock once you reach Imperial Age, meaning that there is no chance to have those strong Man-at-Arms / Rangers earlier!

Big issue with Wyrmguard units is that their other landmark is just really strong and it is hard to compete with Berkshire. The Wyrmguard units are actually pretty good but they suffer from having a good landmark option and being made in batches (meaning they don’t produce when you are at 200 pop)

While they are imperial units, they are probably stronger than the current Ozutsu, the difference is that Japan’s other landmark is garbage. Heck the Wyrnguard units have an argument to be the strongest in the game.

Yes, I think they could rework the Wynguard Palace, but without putting their units in the barracks, because otherwise it loses its charm… I think they would have to buff it and nerf Brekshire, I don’t even use it, because it’s just another keep…before they put the king I didn’t use the abbey of memes, and now it’s super useful…

Imo, it would not lose its charm, because if the Wynguard Palace gets a redesign, the focus would be on the Wynguard Palaces new effect, meaning that Wynguard units would not be directly related to the landmark. The current state of the Wynguard Palace is just useless in mid/high elo. There is no charm occurring atm.
