The only game I’ve ever pre-ordered in my life was AoE III: DE; I bought all the DLC, skins, etc. practically as soon as they came out, to support the game and devs. Given what’s happened in recent years, even with this DLC, the golden rule is: Never pre-order. It’s not like they’ve been fair to us over the past few years, although I’m convinced that the people working on AOE 3 are wonderful people who love the franchise. I love this series, too, but I don’t like being treated like a… third-class customer.

Never pre-order is a good rule, but on the other hand - we had a chance to play the DLC already in a free beta so we know exactly what DLC contains. And the pre-order gives you 15% discount… I’ve already pre-ordered 
Btw, AoE3 is the only game I pre-ordered in my life too.

normaly I would agree but in AoE you get a discount and the management is extreamly numbers driven. Aoe3 and AoE2 Chronicles realy depend on us. I pre ordered for me and a friend.

Already did - if we can somehow show the DEVs that their effort is being seen by the community and that this game is NOT DEAD at all, we should try to do it!
As for any other game - DO NOT PREODER!

I’m not the type to pre-order usually. However, if I’m going to end up buying the Baltic DLC when it comes out anyways… why not pre-order and save 15%? Might as well.
We are at 116 now. Hitting the top 100 would make a good part of the AoE3 comeback story.

Obviously it needs to be twice the price of TAR because it is so expensive to reuse European civ assets and make OvEr 25 nEW maPs.

I’m not going to lie, in that aspect it’s quite mediocre, especially considering that it doesn’t include campaigns.

None of the DLC for AoE3 have ever added full-on campaigns only “Historical Maps and/or Battles”. The Baltic DLC also comes with the new cosmetic pack so there’s that.
Pricewise, well… for AoE2 both The Last Chieftains and Three Kingdoms were $19.99 so I’m guessing this is going to be the new price trend.

Me gustaria que muchas civilizaciones tuvieran arquitectura unica? Si, me gustaria que muchas de las civs europeas vanilla se sientan más unicas? pues SI ¿comprare este DLC para apoyar el desarrollo del juego? SI, 2 años esperando por el DLC, sumado a que el equipo del age 3 estaba ocupado con AOM y por fin nos voltean a mirar otra vez, No niego que me hubiera gustado ver más estilos arquitectonicos (al menos los edificios unicos dan un poco de eso) más unidades unicas para civs antiguas (como Tercios Para los Españoles, Aventureiros para los portugueses o inclusive Geuzens para los Holandeses) o mejor aún una campaña historica Sobre Gustavus Adolphus, Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordaba o Napoleón. POR SUPUESTO QUE ME HUBIESE GUSTADO! pero a estas alturas que recien vuelven al menos quiero demostrar mi apoyo al juego y decir SI! QUIERO MÁS PARA EL AGE 3 quiero más contenido para el, quiero mejoras visuales para los edificios, más aspectos unicos, pero tambien se que si no le va bien en ventas pues adios nos vemos!.. años llevo apoyando esta saga habiendo comprado todos los DLC hasta 2024 cuando mandaron al age 3 al olvido, fue ahi cuando dije que no queria saber nada de esta saga (y me adentre en otros juegos que tenia en mi biblioteca de steam) y ahora que por fin vuelven al age 3 solo y SOLO dare mi apoyo al age 3, vi que apoyar a la saga entera no solo me dejaba corto en el bolsillo, sino que al final no se convertia en desarrollo para el age 3 asi que eso nada más.

I think this refects that TAR was severely underpriced, not the other way around. $20 seems quite reasonable to me for 2 full civs and the game being resurrected.

Finally, someone mentions the Geuzen in the context of the Dutch. I’ve been waiting for a Dutch rework for a long time; they are already well-positioned for one, given their unique settlers, banks, and ships. I’d love to see them get the same treatment the Russians and Ottomans did. The Dutch are my favorite civilization, but I feel they aren’t quite accurately represented yet; historically, the Dutch army was quite distinctive—something that isn’t fully reflected in AoE III. For instance, much like the Spanish, the Dutch placed a high priority on pikemen, yet this isn’t mirrored in the game, where Dutch pikemen are the weakest of all. Their skirmishers aren’t well-represented either—the Ruyter model doesn’t even change when upgraded to Carabineers. For these reasons and many others, I think the Dutch civilization should be considered for a rework, just like the Russians and Ottomans.
