if all he cares about is single player, do what i did when i had no money. wait till it goes on sale.
and in that case, the game should be adjusted to roughly 60$. but they shouldn’t be getting them on the cheap.
why should americans and europeans have to pay more then you? i agree it should be adjusted to the equivalent of 60$ usd. no more.
will it increase sales? yes. but will those increased sales make up for the lost money?
not really. doesn’t always work that way. if i sell 10 copies at 60$ i make 600$.
but if i drop the price to 50$ i need to sell 20% more to make up the difference.
if i drop it to 30$ that means i have to sell TWICE as many. can you guarantee that?
and a game is a WANT. and wants come after needs. SO WAIT for it to go on sale maybe. like i did. many times in the past.
on the other hand, some people clearly think its fair for america and europe to pay for them to play the game. that doesn’t seem fair to me in the slightest. should the price be adjusted to the equivalent of 60$ usd? yes. want it lower? wait for the sale.
surprising that you can afford a PC but not a game.
which won’t play the game very long without overheating. gotta love those lap tops though.
did i say it was easy? heck no. guess how long i had to save up to make my rig? but guess what? that’s what we do for the things we enjoy.
Where did you read that someone here wants US people and Europeans to pay more for the game? As mentioned before, you cannot measure YOUR country’s economy against that of others.
And by the way, the price reduction to attract more purchases is a simple matter of logic. And this is even clearer when we observe that AoE is a niche game and not an FPS or battleroyale that are so popular these days.
again tell me - should the company have to take a loss so you can have a copy of the game? in my eyes? no.
but would the price reduction attract enough to offset the lost sales? if i reduce the price of something by half, can you guarantee my sales more then double? otherwise i don’t net a profit. and that doesn’t even take into account the lost sales just based on steams fees and server space and what not.
doesn’t mean the company should take a loss on sales.
Yes, you should pay more because you have better payments and your money values more, that’s why Steam has regional prices.
Even if MS lowers 50% the price and it only increase the sales 30%, they lose less than if people piracy the game. And guess what happens when people can’t buy something they WANT, but have no real perspective to be able to buy? The do piracy. You want an example of how “too poor to buy this game” people helped to maintain a franchise alive? Heroes of Might and Magic 3. East europeans got illegal copies of the game when it launched, have grown the largest community still active, released HD MOD and free DLCs, and, thanks to their contribution, this game still is a top seller on GOG to the point GOG is paying a small fee to some HOMM3 webcommunities for each sale they get through them.
We know that they do not live in golden palaces, but in matters such as those discussed, the ability to pay in some parts of the world is greater than in others.
And if the prices are Ok to some of u guys. Good. But for some of us, is not.
again with the not answering the question asked. figures i shouldn’t be surprised.
do you complain about the price of all the other big name games that sell for 60$ US as well?
but again, that was just a REMASTER OF AN OLD GAME. most everything already existed.
this is a new game. completely different.
except again - one is a brand new game and the other is a remaster. you can’t even compare the two.
one had almost everything existing already and just needed some updates. the other is being built from the ground up. one takes a heck of a lot more work and money to make.
it took me a year to save up money to build my PC. you know what i do when a new game i want is upcoming? i save.
and that’s why it should be adjusted to what 60$ us dollars is worth. but no more.
and people who pirate the game should be PUNISHED SEVERELY.
HoMM3 had zero problems with sales. sorry but now you’re just blowing smoke.
so wait for the sale? like i did when i was dirt poor?
I live in Europe and i’m with you, this is a big problem… we all know that there are great economic inequalities between countries and I hope there is a middle way!
How much of the minimum wage does AOE 4 cost in your country? 20%? 6%? Something else? You don’t need to live in a golden place if the game bites too little from your payments.
minimum wage is a terrible example because even here in america the minimum wage isn’t livable.
i currently live with two roommates to keep our expenses lower so we can afford the things we like to have. and we all still have to save up over time.
no, but it’s still going to cost you about 300$ us dollars at the bare minimum, which won’t play it well at all.
seriously. if you want even a chance to play decently youre going to need at least 500$.
As I said before, here in Brazil we choose very carefully the games we buy.
And yes, of course I can wait to buy on a sale, BUT I would just like to collaborate with the franchise I’ve been playing for over 15 years, making the pre-order, since if the game doesn’t have a good amount of sales and active players on their launch this can lead to a flop, like many other good games that had a bad launch (for prices, bugs etc).
there was a sale, where you could buy it for 15. but only if you had a copy of HD already. or bought the bundle.
yep. done that before.
so save your bloody money. are you seriously telling me you expected a brand new game to be something like 20$? what would have ever lead you to believe it would have been that cheap?
