Who said he had a 1k dollar PC? The specs that they listed could be run on a toaster, and extra GB space is pretty cheap, so space isn’t a problem

you have 0 idea about how we live here. Tell me how many South Asian or anyone from third world country you have spoken to and asked how they live? Most people in my country buys cheap Intel HD Laptop. Very few people who actually got money considers buying a better rig. Middle Class people like me here buys very selective games and barely manages a good rig. Don’t consider Europe/America as 90% of fanbase. Also are you missing Chinese fanbase who also covers up another portion of AOE2 community? If things stays same you will see how sales will go when the game actually comes out.

those specs are the MINIMUM. good luck doing multiplayer on the minimum.
i’ve been literally all over the world in teh united states navy, seen the poorest of the poor.
even cheap is going to around five hundred dollars if your goal is to play aoe4. more if you want multiplayer.
europe, china, and america constitute roughly 70-80% of all multiplayer games played.
no, but if you can afford a 500$ rig for the bare minimum, you shouldn’t have a worry about the price tag of a modern game.
like it or not modern games are running 60$. you’re also going to be unlikely to have a good multiplayer experience at the bare minimum.
AOE 4 costs 3x the aOE 2 DE price. Hohlenwerger said that AOE 4 costs 5x the AOE 2 DE price in our country. I don’t want to give you an offensive answer, however, this is pure maths. If we start talking about minimum wage, things get even worse.

yeah? one is a REMASTER of a 20 year old game. The other is a completely new game built from the ground up.
so then it might be fair to ask for it to be around the equivalent of 3 times the cost. but certainly shouldn’t be dirt cheap.
if you’re on minimum wage just wait for it to go on sale. that is what i did when i was on minimum wage. i didn’t buy it brand new.

Buying a $500 laptop is a lot different than buying multiple games for $60 that surpasses the laptop you bought within 7-8 games. Of course they don’t cost $60 in his country.

What you call loss? Like me many brazilians cant afford that.
With fairer prices for our region more players will buy the game and thus increase the fanbase and sales as a result. Especially when referring to a niche game

You know that nowadays there is one thing called Economics? Selling more, even if you need to make it cheaper, so you can really sell more, doesn’t mean a loss, means profit.
Second: people use computer for more things than playing games. Computer is a NEED, so sacrificing your payments to buy a pc is one thing, sacrificing your payments to buy an overpriced game in YOUR economy, is another.

The big problem is that many of the players present here want to measure the economic value of their currencies with those of other countries. Things don’t work that way in the real world. Empathy for other people’s pockets is necessary.

Surprising that you still don’t know anything about them.
People in my currency buys Intel HD laptop around 20,000-25000 BDT which roughly under < 300 USD. 50,000 BDT is considered a mid rig around 600 USD. High end rig is around 80,000 which is nearly 1000 USD. There is tax to consider which increases the product value much more and make things further harder to buy. Where in our country average person barely earns 30,000 BDT per month. Now say we can just buy a 1000$ rig easily.

Okay, it would cost about 45 EUR in Europe, but in europe it costs 60 EUR, as we can see there is something wrong, I could buy it in the USA at a lower price, but if I put the same price in a converter you will see that the prices do not correspond equally…
