I can agree it is difficult when there are two very similar colors on the board in RTS. However, It’s great having more colors to choose from, I’m a fan of that and would love more like the much requested black and white for example (hopefully they can figure out how to make them more visible on the map). To keep the new colors in the game and agree with your request, I suggest the devs implement some kind of algorithm instead that detects if one of the specific colors is already selected, and then it will void out the other similar colors so they can’t be chosen, almost as if they were already selected. They could also add some kind of fun settings in the options for things like skirmish modes for people who don’t mind this so they can turn that setting off.

I agree with you, so many players even streamers think like that. When I get raid if I’m green I can’t understand if I get attacked or not. I just enter the forum just support that idea, change or remove that colour

The colors should have been white, gray and black
Not the eye-strain Magenta or the SUS Green
Should have gone with black and brown for colors. White would have problems similar to dark green: same color as neutral units, same color on minimap as selected units.
I think the addition of colors is great, but this is a fairly strong example of how there are actually not that many colors to choose from! While there are thousands of shades visible to the human eye, the upper limit of colors we can immediately tell the difference between is like 12.
Maybe they should make colors specific to teams: warm colors on team 1 and cool colors on team 2. This would make it very easy to add colors to the game, as telling the difference between colors, dark green and lime for example, won’t be as important.

Crearly more than that but a Glance thats ok
I just got destroyed by a Knight raid from a dark Green enemy player, thinking it was our Green allied player.
It is genuinely hard to tell. I’m quite perceptive with colours too. Change this or remove it.
Black, Brown, anything.

They should have delivered Brown/black/medium gray and leave white for disconnected
