Pachacuti campaign
The Pachacuti campaign was the most boring campaign because this is Incas vs Incas. Now with the Muisca and Tupi civilization we can add more flavor.
Do you want a rework of the Pachacuti campaign ?

Eldorado campaign
In age of empires 2 HD an Eldorado campaign with 4 scenario featuring the Spanish (one) and the Incas (three) was present. This campaign was not ported to the Definitive edition. Now with new Muisca and Tupi civilizations the last three scenario can gain more flavor.
Do you want a rework of this campaign in the Definitive Edition ?
We don’t know how the South American architecture will look like yet since we haven’t seen a single building other then the Castle/Wonder in the 3 promotional screenshots.
So it’s hard to tell how well it will fit the Incans but based on the fact that the Mapuche Castle looks very similar to the Incan one it would make sense that those 2 have the same architecture in general.
You all know the architecture set will based on Inca architecture, it’s probably the most complex/ more ruins/with more sources they can find online to make a whole set being the largest urban state in the region, I don’t believe they can find as much buildings to base it off from the rest.
I have to agree. Polls should be worded neutrally. This one railroads people hard by using language that pushes them to the “intended” options. Thankfully, I am immune to such psychological manipulation and answered the poll honestly.
the only changes i want to see to legacy civs are:
-minor balance adjustments (ie slight cost changes or stat changes)
-optional reskins. I’m happy if they make a reskin for them, IF they also provide an official and supported mod that reverts that change.
they have been medi since DE came out, so you know what you bought.
Ideally they would make it so that changing architecture with a mod is possible without data mods, then this entire discussion become void.
I think either architecture is fine for them
they have been in aoe2 since the forgotten, so even the base version of HD contains them.
we can fight about the exact definition of “legacy civ”, some will say only aok/aoc counts, others will say everything added before DE counts
We have not yet seen the new architecture set yet, I assume it will be likely very wood orientated. If that is the case it will not fit the Inca well, who are famous for their stonemasonry.
I can see a world that the inaccurate meso set would still fit the Inca better than a primary wood orientated set. If that happened I hope at lease that they will update the Inca Monastery to be more accurate.
I think the buildings will have wood based structures for the feudal and more anden looking castle and imperial sets.African and SEA sets are made like this.
For NA based dlc below options can cover entire continent.Do they have stories to tell I have no idea.
Iroquois northeast/canada region
Mississippians southeast
Pueblo or Apache Southwest
Sioux or Comanche Plains
On the topic of this DLC, do we expect Tupi to have a civ bonus that’s related to food? From what I’ve read around they were known to have a great agriculture overall.
Windward Hail right above you had some ideas for Mississippians campaigns in the past that I think are really good, one a Bari-style campaign looking at the history of Cahokia.
Pueblo/Navajo/Apache will probably never be done because from what i’ve heard those groups don’t like their cultures being put into video games like that
Sioux and Comanche I seriously doubt, I personally would rather not see an Iroquois civ as that is moreso fitting for AOE3 timeframe IMO. I think the other must-have (if we go North America) other than Mississippians is Taino. I’d like to get some sort of Northeastern NA civ if possible, but I think Thule/Skraelings is a better shout as they are more fitting for the game’s time period than Iroquois.
I do admittedly tend to focus a bit on groups that had European contact, I know the Iroquois for example were probably doing stuff towards the end of the AOE2 timeframe, but a lot of our records of these people come from what the European’s contacting them chronicled, and dealing with groups that had European contact also helps to avoid too many scenerios that are just straight mirror matchups (Cahokia would be this, but Windward Hail did a good job to propose another campaign that wouldn’t be just mirror matchups, and give a bit of an angle of playing as the conquistador as opposed to fighting against them, and Thule and Taino can fight Vikings and Spanish respectively)
Of course none of this discussion relates to Mesoamerica, I am sure we could get a whole seperate new Mesoamerican DLC on top of this.
Just a rework? No. I watched Ornlu’s playthrough of that campaign recently and it’s pretty bad to be honest. I would be interested in seeing it rebuilt from scratch though for sure. I would like to get at least one campaign (as I alluded to in my other post) where you play as the conquistador instead of fighting against them.
