I was talking about the last 2 DLC not just the very last DLC.
That was the DLC with the most content out of the earlier DLC that is true, but all other DLC before 3 Kingdoms had less content.
AoE1DE should become an AoE2DE Expansion
I am still in favour of allowing people to purchase RoR without owning AoE2DE and I think it’s stupid that they never allowed that. But I do think it’s good that they are part of the same game and same engine so AoE1 automatically gets all engine and path finding improvements of AoE2.
I still want a crossover game mode or at least get the AoE1 units in AoE2. Now that we have Chronicles you can’t argue anymore that they won’t fit in thematically.
I did not actively ask for it but I since I play both AoM and AoE3 that have mechanics like this already I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all.
I don’t really like the shield mechanic but I do like Auras. I don’t think I actively asked for them though, not until they first appeared in the game. I think Auras are way way more realistic that Monks. A soldier marching and fighting more disciplined when the commander is nearby makes a lot more sense than someone magically healing all his wounds because there is a pries 20m away.
I think I did suggest the 3 Kingdoms for Chronicles when Chronicles was new. But I did never want them to be part of the main game.
I can’t find my posts about that because they are deep in some long discussions about Chronicles when it was announced but I made this thread when 3 Kingdoms were announced:

Now I think they should be in their own set called something like “Legends” that can include future civs that also have heroes like King Arthur.
