Personality I don’t want to view those ads even if I own all the DLC, theere is already a pop-up when a new DLC is released (and is very annoying for because I usualy preorder athe DLC). For those who don"t want the DLC the content is already showing a locked in the campaign and civilization menu.
So please stop the enshitification of then game, fix the bugs, many of us cannot play the game, since the last update.

Why is this a mess in this case? Because you a few other people are complaining in an internet forum? A mess would objectively be the game not working as intended and having lots of bugs, but “I don’t like this” is “SUBJECTIVE”.
1: It covers up the nice art on the main screen, permanently.
2: There already is a section to view unbought DLCs, introduced in the same patch. This is excessive, pointless and crass. Not to mention it implies people are too stupid to realise that locked civs and campaigns mean there is DLC content.
3: I do not like that dev time was wasted on this, rather than on bug fixing or balancing.
4: In my country, we have places where ads are banned, and some where they are heavily restricted. I hate ads, they make me not want to buy whatever is on them. I do NOT want to see them in something I am trying to relax and enjoy.
Correct, it is subjective. And subjectively, a lot of people hate it. Otherwise one of the most upvoted posts on the AoE2 subreddit wouldn’t be a post asking for its removal.
They are Ads about their own content in a tiny part of the menu (which most games do and way more invasive) that can be removed with a mod day one, people are disturbed so easily these days.
Then this advert is not targeted to you, use the mod and forget about it, but most people are probably not as well informed as someone so invested in a game as the people in the forums (echo chamber, not everyone cares so much about everything).
Advertisement can be annoying? Yes in your case, but that is because you are NOT the target audience. We live surrounded by advertisement everywhere, if you are disturbed so easily, I don’t know how do you deal with the world of consumerism we lived in.
It’s not targeted towards any real person. It’s already in the game, where all people that both own the game and can see this ad, both can see locked icons and there is an unbought DLC section. It’s useless.
I deal with it by noting down products to avoid. Also I just said, my country has rules blocking them from various parts of life, just because wherever you live is worse, does not make this ok.
Ads that interrupt or obstruct me persuade me to NOT buy those products. Which this on does.

Seriously, if we allow this kind of intrusive ad to be in our game, things will only get worse, much worse.
That’s the thing, I’m not even defending it, I said I don’t care one way or the other, but people make a great deal of it if you don’t agree with their opinion 100%.
No, you are the one that need not be on the internet all day, if it annoyed you that people are complaining on a forums about things they brought with their money were changed without their consent.
