I just saw this topic II discussion and it made me think about some things players would like to see in the game for 2026
Co-Op and PVE game modes would bring fresh air to the game and attract Casuals and Newcomers
More Gaia elements, new animals, plants, trees, food sources would bring eye candy and breath of life on the most empty maps!

Please give me the civilization of the Portuguese! It can be for 2026 or 2027.

Some new DLC, bringing a new unique Civilization! (urgent!)
A new map size. Giant or Colossal size.
Increase the maximum number of players. Now the maximum number will be up to 10 players per map.
Include new colors in the civilization selection: Gray, Brown, Black and White! (please, I really need this)
Include new wild animals. For example, replacement for the wolfs: Bears, Lions, Jaguars and Crocodiles. A new replacement for the boar: Moose, Rhinoceros, Buffalo and Bison.

Include personality selection for AIs (something similar exists in AoM:R). Possible suggestions for new AI selection behaviors (I really need this):
Defensive AI (can build walls, and attacks and defends only sacred points and can build the wonder)
Guerrilla AI (attacks quickly and focuses mainly on cheap units, and uses any remaining gold to upgrade units and build sieges)
Rusher AI (attacks quickly, but produces varied units. Likes to divide the army into more attack groups for systemic attacks)
Tactics AI (AI specialized in dividing armies and attacking the same target, with the aim of encircling the enemy’s rear)
Conqueror AI (uses the most efficient means to evolve and have the most powerful army to destroy the enemy with a large army)
Turtle AI (looks very similar to the Defensive AI, because it also builds walls, but it can attack enemy bases, but it takes a long time to attack, focusing first on strengthening itself considerably).
This is a MUST for 2026! so yeah
We need Spanish, Portuguese, Koreans, Vikings (not a Pseudo Viking Civ called Macedonian Dynasty), Aztecs and Inca.
This I personally doubt cause it may degrade performance a thing that any RTS/Competitive game must address

Now more colors to choose more vairiety and more personality to the game

A feature of AoM Retold that would open a new world of possibilities in AoE IV with new maps, scenarios, game modes and so!
A great way to address this would be to make it Biome dependant
Then Crocodiles and Gazelles would replace Wolves and Deer on Savanna
Bears and Ibexes on Alpine Spring and so on and so for!
Colors are really important in an RTS for casual players.
Basically, colors are like SKINS!
Since we can’t “equip” Skins, colors do that job well.
It’s amazing how some colors can give a new feeling when playing with a civilization.
For example:
units that have a lot of metallic armor with a lighter metal color, when selected to use the color gray, give the feeling of wearing full metal armor all over their body. Increasing that feeling of visual shielding.
The same thing with units that have dark metallic armor, if you use a black color, it will give an incredible appearance, like a legendary black knight.
And so on.
There are other RTS games where there is a very large variety of colors to choose from for your civilizations/factions.
Honestly, I hope to see this in AoE4 at some point.

YOU NEED TO BE FIX THIS BROKEN SYSTEM, BETTER IS TO WAIT 5 MINUTES FOR A GAME AND YOU HAVE FUN. NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT 1 MINUTE AND YOU HAVE UNFAIR TEAMS AND NO FUN IF YOU DIDDNT PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS. I PLAY VERY OFTEN RANDOM AND THE MOST TIME YOU HAVE UNFAIR TEAMS!

-WHEN YOU VOTE A MAP OUT OF THE POOL, THAN YOU DONT WANNA PLAY THE MAP!! OFTEN YOU VOTE MAPS OUT, SOME MIN LATER YOU GET YOUR VOTED MAP! NOT OK!!!
-YOU NEED TO HANDLE QUICK BEC AOE 4 WIL MORE AND MORE DIE!!
