[Poll] Where Should the Next DLC Focus?

There are already threads about this topic like this one:
Unique Units ideas for all civilisations

Great thread too.
If the uniqueness of each civilization is improved, we can do a great favor to the game, the latest DLC’s and to the community (and especially RoR).

i am not sure. If you cannot recognize a “knight” as a “knight” in most civs, it will be much much harder for non-pros

I think that if it really is a makeover, of course it should be released as he said, in a separate cosmetic DLC - so that anyone who wants to can return to the original settings.

Even better, include in the definitions themselves the options to control the degree of change of units and buildings when the scale is large and exists as a given.

True. Anyway I think it is time to revive the game with a new edition. Interest is a bit slowing down, and player numbers not really catching up. I’ll start a thread.

Poor Caucasus didn’t get any vote. Khazars next. 11

I want more Caucasus civs too, but we just got some, so it shouldn’t be next. I do agree the Khazars should come eventually, though.

True.
A matter of priorities, what we covered and what came recently.

Cool poll. I like that its by geographic area rather than exact civs. It’s clear that the community (or those of the community who voted) are sated for European content. I hope the devs see this and don’t bow to the noisy minority demanding further splits to European civs. Please give us contact from other corners of the globe.

I’d love to see a similar poll in the AoE3 forum - given the Euro debate going on over there.

Incidentally, whist my deepest wish for AoE3 is a fuuly-fledged Oceania expansion, I don’t have much desire to see Oceania in AoE2.

It’s not that I’m against an Oceania expansion, I think there are a lot of things that need to be done before that.

lets hope another DLC with 3 civs this time come within next 3 months

They are not so useless in the Pachacuti campaign, Kamayuks are also good against Skirmishers, Spearmen and Eagle Warriors and there are several of those throughout the entire campaign…I used them a lot during the campaign…

I do play them, but during the events because playing only multiplayer bores me… I need to finish Babur’s campaign and play the RoR and TMR ones, now I’m playing the custom versions of the VaV scenarios…

Yes, I hope they put in a barbaric dlc with the Celts and Goths, a Middle Eastern dlc with campaigns for Persians, Assyrians and Phoenicians and another East Asian dlc with campaigns for Shang, Choson and Lac Viet… AoE 1 has a gap between 1000 and 734 BC and the Roman campaigns against the Celts and Goths between 390 BC and 378 AD…a section on historical battles (or as with VaV) would also be good…

You have the UUs of the AoM and AoEO civs too…

I doubt it, you already have the Turks (the Khazars were Turks) and the Cumans (who are also Turks, but at least they had the Kipchaks)…

Yes, I think that regional dlc is coming now…so it will be in Africa (to put the Kings of West Africa plus civs from Central Africa) or in America (to divide the Aztecs and Incas)…

True, the entire historical range between the two games is great and contains tons of stories and ideas.
You can make a wide number of DLC’s on it.

I’m not sure if everyone will want it, but it gives the options.

FYI, there is already a building in the scenario editor named “Nubian Pyramid”.

This would fit in with the Campaign scenarios in the brand new African DLC. A Saracens umbrella civ split would be nice for this.

Wouldn’t it be Ethiopians split?

As a matter of fact, it is an area that today is North Sudan - between Ethiopia and Egypt (the Nubian desert, where these pyramids were built).

Historically, they can be associated with the Saracen culture starting from the 7th century and before that they were considered barbarians with ties to the land of Kush. But not Ethiopia.

If we want to be specific, perhaps they can be represented as a civilization mixed with Saracen and African influences.

Ethiopians in game have some elements that are more inspired from Nubians, though.

This is true and there are also many cultural links between the two.

I just want new content. The game was just much better in 2019-22.
