The Allemanians are an ancient people who still refer to the Swiss, Swabians or Alsatians.
The Bavarians come from the Dark Ages and are Bavarians and Austrians - they speak the same language.
The Franconians refer to the linguistic group of West Germans: Westphalians, Luxembourgers or Dutch.
I don’t even have to explain my choice to the Saxons.
Wikipedia says Allemenia and Franconia is a place inside Bavaria. How will three get different civs? All will speak German adding to Teutons and Goths? Isn’t that too much?
The Allemanians civ would represent both the Alamannians (late Ancient Ages and early Middle Ages), Swabians, Swiss and Alsatians.
The Bavarians civ would represent both the Bavarians and Austrians.
The Franconians civ would represent both the Dutch, Flemish, Luxembourgers, Hessians, Westphalians and much more.
The Saxons civ would represent both the all of Saxons, Frisians, Brandenburgians, Pommeranians, Thuringians and much more.
In principle, each of these civs could use a different language:
Allemanians civ - Alemannic German
Bavarians civ - Bavarian language
Franconians civ - Central Franconian languages (for example Dutch)
Saxons civ - Low German
Lets divide every current civ so that we have 1k possible civs to choose from…
Why not divide turks, franks or poles so that people from every region will get some representation?
