Possible civilizations to add by number of campaign appearences

The Allemanians are an ancient people who still refer to the Swiss, Swabians or Alsatians.
The Bavarians come from the Dark Ages and are Bavarians and Austrians - they speak the same language.
The Franconians refer to the linguistic group of West Germans: Westphalians, Luxembourgers or Dutch.
I don’t even have to explain my choice to the Saxons.

Wouldn’t Germany have a problem if they are split? They are always Germans in most RTS.

Wikipedia says Allemenia and Franconia is a place inside Bavaria. How will three get different civs? All will speak German adding to Teutons and Goths? Isn’t that too much?

The Allemanians civ would represent both the Alamannians (late Ancient Ages and early Middle Ages), Swabians, Swiss and Alsatians.
The Bavarians civ would represent both the Bavarians and Austrians.
The Franconians civ would represent both the Dutch, Flemish, Luxembourgers, Hessians, Westphalians and much more.
The Saxons civ would represent both the all of Saxons, Frisians, Brandenburgians, Pommeranians, Thuringians and much more.
In principle, each of these civs could use a different language:

Allemanians civ - Alemannic German
Bavarians civ - Bavarian language
Franconians civ - Central Franconian languages (for example Dutch)
Saxons civ - Low German

More new names

Is that probably too much for you?

You can easily get more.

Are these like City States of Germany before unification?

Do you perhaps have some clothing /architecture differences between them so that I can identify who is who?

Lets divide every current civ so that we have 1k possible civs to choose from…
Why not divide turks, franks or poles so that people from every region will get some representation?

These were not city states. Reading is too hard?

Yes, but you still won’t understand

Ok if somebody doesn’t understand your idea then what is the point to bring this up? And then not willing to explain?

You are the first who doesn’t understand the very basics.

Prome in Bayinnaung 1 ( 1538 AD) might also be replacable by Kalingans (They are currently represented by Bengalis)

According to Portuguese Domingo Paes (visited Narasimha’s Vijayanagar), Orissa extended till Pegu.

Andaman in Suryavarman 3 might also be replacable with Kalingans (Currently represented by Burmese who actually arrived in the island in 1925)

Also Thai appears in Suryavarman mission as well. Lan Xang and Lan Na kingdoms were the Lao who are related to Thai being Tai group.

Eh, I think that we have fairly good records of Pegu at that time and pretty sure the Mon were independent at that time around there

I will check the other ones

Pegu should be it’s own civ or Burmese. Why is it Bengalis in the campaign ?

Because they wanted to give more variety of enemies

Tbh South East Asia is just a very diverse region. Hard to represent everyone

Well then his suggestion to replace it with Kalingans isn’t bad either. :joy:

I dont really care that much about who replaces Pegu, but wont add it to the list without a good argument for why it should be replaced

By the way Wikipedia says Prome was not Mon. It was Bamar/Burmese.
