Possible civilizations to add by number of campaign appearences

Two years ago I made a list of civs by campaign appearances, since there was a pattern to include civs with a lot of appearances in other campaigns. While the pattern is now less prevalent, I thought it was still a fun topic to revisit

Kannadigas

  • Almeida 4
  • Prithviraj 2, 3, 5
  • Rajendra 1, 3
  • Devapala 1, 2, 4, 5

Aragonese

  • Almeida 1
  • El Cid 3 and 5
  • Bapheus

Mamluks/Egyptians (honestly this civ is questionable, but I could see it happening unlike civs like Sosso)

  • Longshanks 2
  • Tamerlane 5
  • Almeida 5
  • Saladin 1
you could also argue that Saladin should be an Egyptian campaign)

Ghurids/Afghans

  • Tamar 5
  • Prithviraj 1, 4, 5
  • Babur 2, 3
  • Ismail 4
Could represent Afghans in Babur 1, Bukhara

Crusaders/Outremer (I mean, we got Romans already, would it be that ridiculous to get them?)

  • Saladin, all scenarios
  • Barbarossa 5, 6
  • Thoros 3, 4, 5
  • Longshanks 2

Scythians (Alans and Sogdians included)

  • Bukhara
  • Gengis Khan 2
  • Attila 1, 2, 5
Could replace Cumans by Alans in Tamar 1

Normans (ew)

  • Hastings
  • Hautevilles 1-4
  • Bari 3-5

Aragonese

  • Almeida 1
  • El Cid 3 and 5
  • Bapheus

Moors

  • El Cid 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Tours
Possible replacement of some of the players of the Berber campaign

Venetians

  • Sforza 1,4,5
  • Barbarrosa 4
  • Lepanto, maybe?

Turkomans/Azeris

  • Ismail, all scenarios
  • Tamar 3, 5

Mon

  • Bayinnaung 1
  • Suryavarman 5
    Possibly Suryavarman 2, Bayinnaung 3

Uzbeks

  • Babur 1,2
  • Ismail 4, 5

Welsh (not a fan, but very possible)

  • York
  • Edward Longhanks 1, 3

Saxons

  • Barbarosa 1, 2
  • Hastings

Kalinga

  • Rajendra 4
  • Devapala 1

Hephthalites

  • Devapala 3
  • Bukhara

Nubians

  • Yodit 2, 3
  • Saladin 1?

Laotians

  • Bayinnaung 4
  • Le Loi 5

Bavarians

  • Barbarosa 1, 2, 4

Vlachs

  • Dracula, all scenarios

Tlaxcala

  • All of Montezuma but scenario 1

Wari/Chanka

  • Pachacuti 1-4

Sosso (extremely questionable choice simply because they are more unknown than even a civ like Kanem would be, but also could be represented by Ghana)

  • Sundjata, all scenarios but scenario 2.

Khitan

  • Gengis Khan 1, 2

Sinhalese

  • Rajendra 2, 3

Telugu

  • Rajendra 1, 3, 4

Ghanaians/Soninke

  • Sundjata 1, 2 (as Wagadou)
Could also represent the Sosso in all the other Sundjata scenarios

Shan

  • Bayinnaung 1, 2

Rakhine

  • Bayinnaung 2, 5

Gokturks

  • Bukhara
Would also probably replace the Uyghurs in Gengis Khan 1

Uyghurs

  • Gengis Khan 1
Would probably replace the Gokturks in Bukkhara

Cham

  • Suvyavarman 5
Could replace Malay in Le Loi 1

Thai

  • Bayinnaung 4

Irish

  • York

Tanguts

  • Gengis Khan 3

Chimu

  • Pachacuti 5

Swahili

  • Almeida 3

Jurchen

  • Gengis Khan 3

Hausa

  • Sundjata 2 (as Ni
ger although it could be represented by Songhai as well)

Dutch (Burgundians kinda cover them so idk)

  • Grand Dukes 5

Rn I was including every Italian civ that was part of the Kingdom of Italy during the medieval period in Italians

However I could mention the diferent Italian civs in other regions (Lombards, Genoese, Tuscans, Piemontese etc) if you want to

Sforza was Milanese

Ngl every time I see people talking about making each individual Italian city-state its own civ, I get a twitch in my eye…Italians are fine as is, there’s plenty of other civs to focus on before we start getting granular about individual city-states. About the only one I could sorta-kinda see is Venice, and even at that i’m not in favor of it.

And Jin from Genghis Khan 3.

Already there in the list.

The Jurchens did not participate in the Imjin War, so the Chinese in that campaign should still be Chinese

Didn’t notice. My bad.

If Im not wrong, the Ming were very presentbin Korea during the Imjin war so putting the Jurchen there would be weird. If anything it feels like they are too unimportant for the scenario rn

Wouldnt Tamils fit better for 13th century Indonesia?

Maybe I don’t know. But Tamils were more of an invaders than being Traders as I understand. The role of Traders is better filled by Kalingans.

According to Ming records, the Jurchens did try to join the war and help the Ming and the Joseon Koreans to fight against the Japanese, however their offer was denied by the Ming court.

One of the Japanese general who invaded Korea during the war Kato Kiyomasa did venture into Jurchen territory and had a few skirmishes with them. However the skirmishes were inconclusive and did not have any impact on the outcome of the war.

You have written possible replacements for other civs too.

LoL why are Jews always in opposing faction ? If you are Roman they are Saracen, if you are Saracen they are Roman.
