Yeah I realized that after I looked into it closer

It should be said that they are culturally rich. Sorry, I’m using a mobile translation app to communicate with you.

Yes, I agree. Even though all the civs would be umbrellas, they would still do their best to respectfully and awesomely portray the great variety of cultural elements present among the Pacific islands.

What building asset?

I love it. They are working already on the DLC for 2027. I really hope for Africa this time. There are so many possibilities (Somalians, hausa, Kanemboru, Songhai, Ghana, Yoruba, kongo, Simbabwe, bantu). Technically, we could get 2 DLCs with 5 civs to cover it all.

However, I hope also to get Hippos, giraffes, hyenas and baboons.

It seems that they have a combined theme for aom and aoe2 when it comes to DLC. So it makes sense to consider what regions are uncovered in aom as well.

Noth America and Polynesia are options in this case, but so is sub Sahara Afrika and Slavic regions. (I guess they won’t touch modern religions like Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and buddism)

I pray the other one could be a single player DLC with sinosphere campaigns…

“The campaigns for China, Jurchen, Khitan, and Korea need to be expanded as well.”

As much as I support Sandy I wouldn’t take him 100% seriously, from one of the recent interviews he’s kinda disappointed from FE’s recent descisions.

He mentions the “famous female warriors” of Ghana. Did those exist in the Ghana Empire, or are different West African civs (including the Fon people or the Kingdom of Dahomey) mixed again?
By the way, here’s a link to the post.

On another note, this was written by Sandy in the olden days in 2000 (source):

Also giving 3K an unique architecture, similar to chinese one from AoE1 but adapted.

Tanguts fine, maybe Tibetans.

Also giving Tanguts, Mongols and Huns pastures.

The design would be quite difficult, if you want to make them feel authentic. Hawaiian wonder would be a volcano?

The main point would be, that they are naval, but then they would have galleons.

If we don’t get regional skins for ships, I don’t think this will work.

I wouldn’t recommend using Sandy as a source. He’s full of hot air and frequently lies about easily falsifiable things.

That’s a somewhat ignorant thing to say. Hawaii had a very large temple, the largest in Oceania as a matter of fact, that would make a good Wonder.

Regardless, I do think a Polynesian umbrella would work better than individual island civs.

In more recent years, or in general, including the many pieces of information he shared during the ES days?

He probably meant Ghana (the country, not the kingdom) because of its proximity to Benin (the country where Dahomey was located, not the kingdom) and must have mixed it all up.

Or perhaps he read a certain Spanish chronicle that mentions a regiment of black female archers fighting for the Almoravids against El Cid in Spain and imagined, with some reasonableness, that they were from the Kingdom of Ghana.

But which do you think is more likely?

The modern country of Ghana naming themselves after the Sahelian empire hundreds of miles to the north is a peak PR move but a huge headache for history learners

Since he wrote “famous”, he probably referred to the women warriors commonly known as Dahomey Amazons. I wonder how they came to be associated with wider Western Africa, including the Mali Empire.

Speaking of black archers, still waiting for the first African-looking foot archer in the game (Archer of the Eyes doesn’t count with the current sprite).
