Problem with uploaded mods between accounts associated to Xbox and Steam

Hello! I have the following problem:

Some time ago I uploaded several scenarios of AoE2DE, through the game on Steam, into an account in the website that is associated with my Xbox / Microsoft account. I made this having previously linked this account with the game on Steam.

However, some months ago I uploaded a new scenario but this wasn’t uploaded into the Xbox account but to a new account that was associated to my Steam account. I didn’t realize that at the moment of the upload, because when I checked the uploaded mod of the scenario with the Xbox account this wasn’t allowed for me to edit the mod at the website. I thought that was an error inside of the website and I waited some time, but now I have realized what really happened. I checked by accesing with that second account (Associated with Steam) and effectively I can edit that last mod that I uploaded.

I want to know what could happened in this situation and also want to know if is there a chance of the last scenario that was upload could join into the other mods that I had previously uploaded. Also, I want to know how to take care in this situation because I would prefer to have only one account and all the mods found in that.

Thank you!

I have the same problem. I had all my mods on the Xbox account and now from the game I can only upload from my steam account, I wish I could upload from the game to my Xbox account. It takes longer to update mods from the browser

Yeah, it’s a bit of a pain to deal with with steam vs xbox accounts. I found the following helps some:

Via Website: If you are asked to sign in with your xbox/microsoft account, try hitting the back button or reload page button. (make sure you log out first.) It should show up a new page showing which one you want to log into. Steam or Microsoft/xbox. Select as needed and upload as needed.

Via Game: When uploading your mod, in the info.json file, make sure you set your “author” string to your steam name or xbox name. This way, it will at least “hint” at which one you are trying to use.

Generally speaking though, If you want the xbox/microsoft one, stick with the website and if you want steam, stick with the in-game one. (That is what I have seemed to have determined while working with the annoying double account system.)
