Even when it’s the second of 9 euro civs to get a fully dedicated update, there’s still someone that’s claiming to be a victim of actual real life oppression because they’re worried it’s possible they might not get a prize with their cracker jack. y que pasa con los 300 años de hegemonia hispanica en las americas? parece que la gente se olvida que entre el siglo 15 y el siglo 19 hay mas de 300 años de historia, nadie habla cuando hispanoamerica era potencia aun mas que la propia europa, todo curiosamente decayó con las independencias y el intervencionismo criollo, estadounidense e ingles, que hasta aun hoy dia siguen pagando deudas a los britanicos por la ayuda dada, curioso tambien que las colonias britanicas brillasen justo al ocaso de la caida del imperio español.

por cierto para matanza de indigenas, la que cometieron los criollos contra los indigenas realistas que lucharon por el bando español, si algo fue las guerras de independencia, es que fue de criollos contra españoles e indigenas, despues de la independencia ahí fue cuando se empezó a segregar a los indígenas y a decaer todo, además de las tramas y guerras de poder entre nuevos nobles criollos y traidores españoles.

Let’s not pretend that spain was the good guy colonial power and the other empires were the bad guys. All of them participated in the slave trade, all of them killed natives and pillaged their lands and claimed them as their own. Spain were no better than Britain.
It’s a blatant lie that the spanish assimilated the natives and the brits didn’t, in India the main portion of the army were indians, the sepoys and they were paid indians not enslaved. Both britiain and spain had colonies for the benefit of england and spain respectively, that’s why the spanish shipped tons and tons of gold stolen from tthe aztecs and incas back to spain. The same with britain and other resources.
So I’ll repeat again, I don’t care particularly what spain did hundreds of years ago but they were no better than any other colonial power and their colonial legacies seem to have left their ex-colonies in far worse condition than those of other empires, just look at latin america rife with crime, corruption and poverty is there a single modern day country in a good state that was a colony of spain? Even spain itself is a shadow of it’s former self with a pitiful economy.

It’s a great country, not hating on spain at all but seem to be going round in circles here with people arguing that the spanish empire was somehow better than other empires and some kind of eutopia for natives.
Personally I like spain and the spanish, I speak spanish and live in south america I also go to spain frequently for vacations and have a house there. I’m certainly not against the spanish at all.
