Hi, I recently got a new PC and have reinstalled all AoE2 content via the Microsoft Store. Although all related achievements are still present in the Xbox app, AoE2 does not show medals for some newer campaigns and only the first mission in these campaigns can be started. The recently added decisions in 3 Kingdoms and possibly in Chronicles are also lost.
Affected by this are:
Caucasus
Victors and Vanquished
partly Return of Rome (only the two later added campains Greece and Babylon)
China / 3 Kingdoms is shown as completed, but all decisions are lost.
I suspect the same applies to Chronicles (shown as completed, decisions are lost).

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:
Install AoE2 with DLCs on a different PC
Try to play the mentioned campaigns
Be annoyed about the lost progress or the lost decisions
EXPECTED RESULT
What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
All progress is stored via Cloud and therefore present on different PCs.
IMAGE
ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.
The image shows unlocked missions without decisions in Cao Cao, which should not be possible.
GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)
Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.
It looks like certain campaigns aren’t being saved correctly on the Relic servers. Interestingly, you’ve found even more affected campaigns than I mentioned in my original post—great catch! I hadn’t checked the Return of Rome campaigns, for example, and the decision-based campaign data hasn’t been released yet.

Ah, I forgot to mention: The campaign progress should be saved in the Player.nfp file, which you might find on your old PC. This file syncs via Steam Cloud, although I’m not sure how it’s handled in the Microsoft Store version. So maybe you’ll get lucky and be able to restore your progress!

Hey, thanks to a short episode of offline-playing and I guess a misclick on my part when syncing with Steam Cloud I have the exact same issue OP mentioned. Would you mind If I sent you my player.nfp as well? I’ve completed all Mountain Royal Campaigns and all V&V scenarios apart from Vortigern and Constantine XI. on hard and it’d be a shame to have to do them all again.
Many thanks for the information! Unfortunately, I no longer have any data from the old PC, as the SSD has already been formatted.
My workaround was to rush through the already completed Sun Clan missions in Easy mode, so that I could also complete the final 3 Kingdoms campaign with the decisions I had made on the old PC.
So I currently have no pressure with this bug, although lost medals are still an annoyance.

To ensure everything works smoothly, you only need one completed scenario from the Victors & Vanquished campaign (any scenario) and one scenario from each Mountain Royal campaign, Tamar, Ismail, and Thoros, on any difficulty. However, if that’s inconvenient, we can try proceeding without this step initially, and I’ll check if your file contains the necessary data to restore the medals.

I’ve already followed your instructions and re-did Thoros 1 and Tamar 1 (Ismael oddly enough was still there, apart from the last scenario) and 1 V&V scenario (Xie An) beforehand, so I hope we should be good.

I recommend disabling Steam Cloud before inserting the updated file, then verifying everything locally. Once you’ve confirmed it worked, re-enable Steam Cloud. Also, check the second guide link I sent earlier, there’s a secondary directory where you need to paste the file before turning Steam Cloud back on.
