Purely for fun speculation on future civ additions for AOE2 DE

Maybe, but I would rather get 2 North-Am civs, than just one.

So for most of the Middle Ages they weren’t - I feel like Makuria and the other Christian Nubian kingdoms are significant enough to have their own civ.

Anasazi would be a good option then

Problem with them, is that we know close to nothing about them.

What special cultural UUs or Techs would they have?

Stay tuned lol I’m working on something now

Sorry, but..

Hungary ARE Magyars. Poland and Bohemia are Slavs, but only technicaly, because they are West Slavs, and in-game Slavs are mostly Rus, east Slavs.

Persian Dynasty. It is covered by the Persians.

No love for Poles? Winged Hussars? 11

9 more?

Good, but you are replacing too many names, that can cause an issue

There is nothing that Poles could bring to the table right now, that Lithuanians, Slavs and Magyars already do not.

Magyar Huzsars is already Winged.
Leitis ais already a Winged Lancer unit.
Slavs already have the Mass Infantry + Heavy Cavalry UU theme.

Winged Hussars were not medieval period.

But I want West Slavs. And Husit Wars Campain.

You do have a point, ngl.

But idk, a non-trash Winged Hussar would be decent imo (stronger than Magyar Huszar, but you could argue that could feel repetitive)

Grouping east and west Slavs together isn’t perfectly accurate, but it wouldn’t even be in the top 5 inaccuracies as far as civs go. Poles are a Slavic ethnicity and speak a Slavic language. It doesn’t make sense for them to use Boyars? Well it doesn’t make sense for the Umayyads to use Mamelukes, or for the Safavids to use War Elephants.

These kinds of generalizations exist for all civs. I’d rather not go back and add more specificity to an area already covered when there are so many areas that aren’t represented at all.

Yes, but they were in this time light cavalry. Not the most famous medium-heavy shock cavalry like later.
And they start as serbian and hungarian merceneries. Magyar Hussar, yes.

As you can see, they transform into heavy cav mid 16th century.

I know please read this

Winger Huszars certainly fit better for Poland. While Hungary should be redesigned focusing on cav archers.

I know that. But I think they more fit AoE 3 time period than AoE 2.

All the civs in my list coexisted in 1444 AD

You’d be correct if the Turtle Ship that is made in 1592 wasn’t in the game,
