Okay, 7 haciendas with sheeps in all of them, giving resources its good, like about half a factory each, you can have cows and llamas for better trickles

But creating soldados is sooo much better, they create 1 each 10 seconds, that’s 170 resources in 10 seconds, = 17 resources p/s per hacienda, so it’s almost 2.2 factories each hacienda, and having 7 haciendas is ~ +15.3 factories, that’s even more than USA Texan Forts, wich all 6 Forts are like +7 factories, this 7 haciendas are worth double that, and also you don’t need cows or llamas, either way they spawn each 10 seconds

EDIT: You canÂŽt have 20 llamas and 20 cows, they count as the same, so is just 20 cows + 120 sheep

yes, it’s a rare patch
it’s a 50/50 for Spain

Posiblemente Portugal,si meten a Brasil como civ y luego todo el resto de civs europeas en el dlc europeo

It got nerfed to +15% attack and hp but at the cost of 30% longer train time.

The Spain changes overall are kinda funky, not sure what to make of them in total.

One change I wanna home in on is the update to Spanish Armada. Adding the ability for warships to train military is nice utility on top of +20% hp. While it does take away some of the Galleon’s uniqueness, the fact each warship has a different combination is nice, and the basically all make sense. Kinda a shame the Monitor only has Mortars, tho it makes sense. Would be kinda funny if they could make Culvs or Petards as well.

The only hang up I have with it is the card overlooks a few ships, namely the ones you can build when you ally with natives: the Canoe, Catamaran, and Privateer.

The Canoe is kinda a daunting ship to balance training from, since they’re so cheap and numerous. I think the natural solution is to make them mobile Native Embassies. That way, the units they build have a build limit so extra production is redundant, and as a bonus you don’t have to worry about it producing ill-fitting units for the map.

The Catamaran already trains the Orangutan and the Marathan Dacoit, so it may be redundant for it to train other units (compare with the Galleon, which also doesn’t gain new units to train). However, if you wanted to give it more units to train, perhaps it could be allowed to make one or more of the Wokou Outlaws. Alternatively, they might get the ability to act as a mobile Native Embassy, similar to the canoe.

On the African map Horn there’s a variant of the Catamaran called the Bandit Catamaran which trains Pet Warthogs and Elephants. Again, perhaps a train effect isn’t necessary, however I think proposals similar to the above could work, although I guess you’d replace Marathan or Wokou Outlaws with Desert Outlaws.

The Privateer seems the most interesting case. While you can train them on African maps if you ally with one of the natives, Spain can also ship them in on any map from the Homecity. I think it would be fun if Privateers could train a large variety of pirate themed units when you send Spanish Armada. Like the Pirate, Buccaneer, Barbary Corsair, or Corsair Marksman to name a few.

Edit: I just realized I forgot about the Wokou Junk. This is what you can train on Asian maps that are more China/Japan themed than Indian/Indonesian themed. It can already train the Orangutan, Wokou Horseman, Wokou Ronin, and for some reason the Hussar. Just to be sure, it isn’t affected by Spanish Armada. Like the Catamaran, I’m not sure if it’s necessary for the Wokou Junk to be given more units to train, but just to give the suggestion I think the simplest idea is to add the other Wokou Outlaws: the Monk and the Pirate. Somehow I find making the Wokou Junk a floating Native Embassy less appropriate than it is for the Catamaran, but it’s a fair option.

As an aside, the Wokou Junk is crazy expensive. 800c for a ship marginally better than the Privateer (500c) is ludicrous. Reducing that to 600c seems fair to me.

I won’t retract my prior suggestion about the Catamaran, but I will say if it isn’t thematically appropriate for it to gain the ability to train Wokou units, the Thugee seems a natural alternative.

Edit 2: Ok I took a closer look and the Catamaran and Wokou Junk are a bit more complicated than I first thought. Basically, the outlaws each can train are tied to the map’s set outlaws, except they can only train Marathan and Wokou outlaws respectively. With respect to Spanish Armada, I now think the most natural effect is for Catamaran and Junks to work as Native Embassies i.e. train native units you’re currently allied with. However, the other effects (filling out the Outlaw roster) are still reasonable secondary effects imo, particularly for the Junk which will never have more than 2 of the possible 4 Wokou Outlaws.

I still think the best idea for the Privateer is to let it train “pirate” type units, as listed above.

Ironically the Spanish soldatos are doing better than the Mexico soldato.

Overall it looks like a good patch. Im supremacy not all cards will fit into existing builds but they are more workable than what brits got.

The only thing I’m not so sure is the culverin buff. I think it is intended to allow culverins to snipe age 3 forts and be a viable counter for 2 falconets FF on top of being anti artillery.

Mmm tss creo que a medias colega, ya que la culebrina tiene un daño base de 40, alcanzando 70 en imperial y un bonus x2 es demasiado bajo

I don’t think they’ll be much more than a meme strat by the end of the pup though. The issue with sheep counting as a villager will be patched, the homestead wagon creating haciendas will also likely be changed, or at least respect the build limit of 2. I’d expect the soldado train time to be increased too.
They’ll still be good late game with +25% damage and unction, though lacking grenade launchers of course, they certainly shouldn’t be better than mexico’s version.

I kinda find the Homestead wagon cute, and think it’s a quirky workaround to vils being unable to rebuild Haciendas since it costs a card slot. Besides, the Homestead wagon already makes Haciendas for Mexico, so I don’t see it being changed. But it’s probably fair to force it to respect a build limit of 2. The issue is the card currently doesn’t enforce a build limit and since Spain doesn’t have a set Hacienda build limit either, the Homestead wagon somehow sets the build limit at the default 7. The fix is probably as simple as the card setting the build limit to 2.

The biggest problem with that mechanic is that Haciendas create Soldados extremely quickly, not just with 20 villagers and 2 Haciendas, but just cows and sheeps. Although the cost of getting the 7 Haciendas can be a bit high, the reward is very good, 1 soldado every 10 seconds is exaggerated and broken. Not to mention that if the relevant improvements are applied such as advanced arsenal, uncion, etc, the Spanish Soldado is better than the Mexican Soldado himself. For which I see the change very well and I don’t know if it is even insufficient.
