Maybe it’s time to update the spanish mexican revolution and make it more coherent with the mexican civilization?
For example:
-remplace villagers with Guard/Veteran Insurgentes instead of Vaquero (too similar to the argentinian revolution)
-send Soldados or Salteadors from the home city
-send a Padre
-send haciendas
Updating the Mexican Revolution to give it new tools based on the full civ is a good idea. Some other card ideas:
-either a one time or infinite shipment of Navajo, Maya, or Aztec units
-Liberation March
-the Whale card just because
still, I think this is kinda unlikely, since the USA revolution is basically untouched since they were added as a full civ.
I think with a 50% + nerf to artillery for Spain, the civ will really suffer in treaty. However the rest of the changes should will allow it to be played outside of natives which is good. Maybe allow Spain to have Engineering School or the Team Engineering School cards to offset the nerfs abit?
In my opinion, all revolutions should have decks of at least 20 cards and reset the shipping cost as if the game had just started, it would be more tempting to make a revolt in casual games before going up to Imperial.
Well, after testing the PUP, this is my personal feedback.
Regarding Spanish gold, I would like it to return to 350g as before, because 300 already makes it quite bad and useless. This proposal shared by this user is also excellent.
- [NEW] TEAM 1 Falconet (III, 200c): Simple shipment of a Falconet to the entire team.
This card seems to me to be broken, and needs balance imo. I would make the base cost 200 gold and for each ally increase the price to 100g, for example, if you have 2 allies, the cost should be 400g, 200 base and 100g extra for each ally.
- [NEW] TEAM 1 Heavy Cannon (IV, 500c): Simple shipment of a Heavy Cannon to the entire team.
This card also needs balance, but I’m not sure what price to put on it.
- [NEW] Marvelous Year (III): “Settlers train and work significantly faster for 365 seconds. A marvelous year, Viva España!”
I think this shipment will cause problems in the future, I think the bonuses should be slightly adjusted.
- [NEW] Viceroyalty of New Spain (III): “Ships 2 Haciendas Wagons that can transform into Haciendas which Settlers may gather resources from or help spawn Cows, Settlers, or powerful Soldados at.”
This shipment I think needs a change in the automatic production of soldados, it has a lot of potential to be broken in several game modes. My proposal is somewhat drastic, but I think that the possibility of generating soldados should be eliminated, and instead, that another unit can be produced, such as Lancers or Skirms, but the soldados are quite broken, they are even better than their Mexican counterparts .
Another balance would be to directly reduce the creation time of each soldados considerably and eliminate shadowtechs, which is one of the main reasons why it is broken imo.
- [NEW] Liberation March (III): “All infantry and cavalry train and move faster.” This card replaces Fencing School and Riding School
The card is very good, but the fact that it increases the speed of the units, plus the advanced arsenal improvement, makes Corselette of the church totally negated. It doesn’t seem fair to me imo that Spain can escape a penalty when the rest of the civilizations can’t, so I think the card should be adjusted to only affect the training times and not the speed of the army.
The rest of the changes seem to me to be fine, although I have my doubts about Unction and personally I would like it to go back to how it was before, but to remain in the age of exploration.
And finally, I have nothing against the new skins for the Spanish explorer, but I prefer Delgado a thousand times over the new skins created.
All you have said are nerfs except the Spanish gold.
Many other things would have to be compensated.
The corselet’s penalty is canceled as well as the production of villagers by the English through manor houses, which have more bonus cards and cause them to also be canceled if they cost more wood.
To get to the corselet bonus override you need 2 cards and a church. All this is already penalties like all the changes to Spain that are only cards and you have to send them all.
Spain needs a strong ranged unit so I don’t agree with nerfing haciendas and the peninsular guerrilla card would have to be in third age
[NEW] TEAM 1 Falconet (III, 200c): Simple shipment of a Falconet to the entire team.
1 Falconet (III, + 100c each allie):** Simple shipment of a Falconet to the entire team
100c in 2v2, 200c in 3v3, 300c in 4v4
Is strong but is a good option for play Spain in teams.
Well, I made a personal balance of everything that Spain already has, plus what the PUP offers us and the truth is that it is very inclined to be OP imo. Not that they added all these new things means that the civilization was weak and really needed those buffs.
I don’t quite understand what you are arguing here. Do the British have any church improvement penalties that can be shoveled with some shipment?
Well, if we put the cards on the table, it doesn’t cost Spain that much to be able to send all the necessary shipments, in addition to the fact that the church improvements, advanced arsenal and Marcha de Liberacion come with other bonuses aside.
They don’t need it imo. They already have several strong units, they don’t need one more. And Peninsular Guerrilla, I don’t know, I think that for what it offers and does, in Industrial it’s fine.
To be fair Delgado is too similar to the current basic skin, and same epoch theme. But, yeah, I think that is cool always to play with the cool looking characters of the campaigns.
Basically every team card is better for 3v3 or 4v4 so I don’t see how this should be any different.
I think it should just ship a few Soldados with the Haciendas and then enable training them at Forts rather than from Haciendas. That would make getting Haciendas from the homestead wagon not an issue. Haciendas from homestead wagons should also be enabled by default after revolutions.
I think this is a bit of a compensation for making unction less effective. Ranged units are compensated with the Peninsular Guerrillas card and melee units are compensated by this card that cancels the drawbacks of Corselet.
