@rjgt3838 heh it may sound like im complaining downloading a free mod, but thats not the case. perhaps i should word it better.

it is an ongoing thing with me and the issue with in game download speed and I have been voicing this since at least over 8 months ago. the good news is dodonotdodo will look into it as he wasn’t aware in game download speed would be this slow. if they do fix this, wide support for UHD mod might be really become feasible.

How do the unique units differ statistics wise? What’s their specialisation/unique traits?

They look awesome, but maybe need abit more brightness? How do they compare in size with the Legionaries?

@Juggernaut8704 Great question, currently these unique units for other civs are all cosmetic to fit the period and the culture. However, would love the communities thoughts on how these should be unique and specialized. Feel free to join the discussion on Discord if you like. I will need to compile a WS/shared doc for reference and balancing considerations. Will try to work on that this weekend.

@PeakHornet46539 thank you for the feedback. I discussed with 3D artist and I think we are going to try to lighten the player clothing and shield a bit to add brightness. I do really like the skin complexion as is. Will post updated render version of the unit once complete.

As for size, they are the same size (head to toe) as the Legionary unit. They may however look taller due to the head dress. Will make sure to post a comparison shot of the two this evening if possible.

Cool! Will you be making an Eastern Persian/Arabic like archer to go along with this spearman? Like those that darkened the skies at Thermopylae…

Love the idea, and investing in unique Persian archers would probably be worth while for the civ. Probably need to conduct a poll to make sure units are prioritized based on interest. :slight_smile:

They could be made generic enough to double as Eastern Foot Archers for Persian/Arabic/Turkish civilisations as well with their composite bows!

Working towards completion of Persian Unique Spearman Unit. Looking for suggestions on next unit. Some Options listed below:

Looks good,perhaps a lighter version of the same unit can be made by removing the body armor shield or hat?
Eg. V1 unit without shield and body armor
V2 shield only no body armor
V3 current unit,all 3 versions have the hat.

The Eastern Persian/Arabic archer.

The dying animation could be alittle more contorted. He looks like he’s falling back. I was wondering if you could add abit of shadow to the unit so he blends with the AOE2DE type unit look abit more. Otherwise looks cool.
