Hi, I am getting this error with any custom campaign and custom map, even when I create the custom map. The custom campaign enemies don’t do anything other than gather resources, all players don’t create even a villager. They just stand, a few existing villagers gather resources.
I asked Gemini, and it told me to just go to your proton folder .steam/steam/steamapps/common/AoE2DE/resources/_common/ai/Promisory/ and check tsa.per2 file line 3211, but I prefer to check the forum to see if there is a fix for this. Is it a common problem? How can I fix it?
Can you share what’s written in that line?
This “Invalid Identifier” could mean that you’re trying to use a protected word in an unexpected way, like a special character in a context where it’s not allowed or even trying to refer to a variable with a spelling error.
I never programmed a PER file but this seems to be a common programming error, not related to something broken in the engine itself.
(Sorry, I;m back)
yes, all custom maps shows the same error, even the ones I make. I am running the game from Kubuntu, using Proton 9.0.4. Never had any problems so far until this.
