Despite it being considered like that, which I understand (and accept) the naming of it under those circumstances, it’s actually historically inaccurate and a widely expanded misconception. The reality of the “Spain” of the XVI century is they were different sovereign regions, separated from each other just having in common that they shared the same ruler and would be grouped as “the possession of a specific noble family” (which actually expanded outside the peninsula). Similar to the very same Charles I of Spain that was also at that time Charles V of Germany without the two territories being considered as only one. The truth is that Spain, as the current state, was created in 1716 with the Bourboun’s centralization and unification of the territory. In fact, the union, that some people linked to the Catholic Kings was close to never happened due to a succession event (the death of Isabel of Castille and the remarrying of Ferran d’Aragó) and because of the true nature of that union: different territories owned by one ruler.

@MatM1996 just wanted to say you don’t have to give context to every historical fact people mention

Castilla was already a county of León in the 9th century and in the year 1065 it became a kingdom, therefore it fits very well in the game as a civilization apart from having light cavalry units and harquebusiers that were already named at the beginning of the 15th century.

They can be called Spanish or Iberians but be focused on Reconquista, in the origin of Spain as union of different christian kingdoms of the peninsula.

Well I like to give historical context, I’m like a walking Wikipedia xd…
