Something I don’t get, anyone can generate a BR map and copy the building, what speaks against having it as a regularly available object.
yeah I don’t get that either. There are a few visually identical units and buildings already so why not one more? There is the none converting goat and none converting torches too.
More ships.
Dark Age regional variation.
Stairs.
Gold / Rock node sprite variation for landscape variation. (like desert colored rocky part of the graphic for rocky maps)
Fruit Trees, like Apple-Tree.
Lynx.
Sharks. (water predator ? not sure it’s relevant for the middle age, they attack surfing people, not wodden fishing boats)
Wine making building, with wine plantations.
Inn.
Flag bearing units, it’s something we miss in the game, some damn flags on the battlefield. (kingdom of haeven scene when slaadin’s army and crusader’s army meet at the Templar Krak fortress, tons of flags everywhere !)
Pilory (scenario asset).
Pyre (scenario asset).
More wells, with other style variations.
Some jousting things, with the things for people to seat and watch.
Drawbridges <3.
Slopes walkable things, abit like stairs but sloped.
More shipwrecks.
More tents / pavillons, including more regional variants.
More rocks assets. (I know mossy & snow variation are coming with the next dlc, but I mean new rock shapes)
SAND layering graphic, identical to Snow but for desert maps to have some sand accumulation on them. We need that for the game.
Using civilisations specific flags would be really cool. Now that they were added to the game why not make a unit that makes use of them.
A tavern building for each architecture set would be really cool. Currently the only usable building we have is the Trade Workshop for everything.
Jerusalem has come…
Yes but problem with trade workshop is that it doesn’t feature Ages variations.
noding
The vineyards exist but they are just eye candy. They should be made into forage bushes. Gold mines should have silver, copper, or iron variations. Marble mines (variant stone mines). Hippos, giraffes, Black/white tapirs. Resize the tigers, lions - they are too small. The deer too.
Volcano.
Lava flood river terrain.
Laval-Water colliding terrain.
Obsidian formation.
Sulfur spot.
More minerals, copper, silver, tin, iron… After all, we’re getting “meat” stock out of “berry bushes” so why not “gold” stock out of non gold mines ?
Same for rocks, gimme more rocks ! Some regional rock piles to be mined. (maybe with amount variation of course, every rock is not the same, has not the same softness etc)
Squirels, maybe as a tree sprite variation not as a real animal.
Cheese making building, I’d love to see it as a civ building, but cheese making outside of monk making it is more of a modern thing. (I’ll always maintain that swiss civ would requiere cheese bonus on their monasteries ! And no, the Gruyère has no hole, it’s the Emmental !)
Culverin artillery. Breach-loaded artillery is as old as cannon itself, at least black powder cannons. They used wood and hammered it to seal the movable part of the Culverin. It shoot less powerfull charges due to the cannon design, but was perfect for reloading when you’re inside a fortification / a ship, and also it’s a cool design.
Springald, I think I already mentioned that somewhere, it’s a very medieval specific thing not known well enought. And the last regional “siege” unit we had for the game was the siege elephants, so Siege need more love.
Female Merchant.
Regional Palissade wall skin variation.
More AoE3 unit skins from event mods !
Cats, why don’t we have cats already !
Regional Scorpion upgrade?
More types of dogs are needed too. They need to be resized abit. Hounds, salukis, mastiffs. There needs to be more regional merchant skins, Scandinavian, Byzantine, Slavic merchants should not look like Renaissance tight wearing chaps. Indian and Southeast Asian merchants too. Salt mines, blueberry bushes, pumpkin patches, melon patches and olive trees too.
An “object has aura affected unit” trigger condition, to allow activating once enought units are arround a specific one, to have movable “gathering points” system using auras and revert auras using diplomacy in the aura task.
Something that was cut from AoE1 nearly 30 years ago. About time to implement it.
I miss those small, purely decorative rocks lying around in AoE1 and its DE.
I’d like to see Chronicles-style versions of Fortified Palisade Wall and Fort Wall.
Were there any besides the Musketeer? There were also Capybaras and Great Bombard, but only as projectiles and TC decoration, respectively (and actual Capybara units exist now, anyway).
At least AoE3DE gets cats, as Home City customisations. I wish more of those HC inhabitants were available in that game’s Scenario Editor…
Want to see Prince/Princess sprite. So far we only have King and Queen. Also hate seeing Princess(in past it was Queen as well) being turned into “Joan The Maid”. Think QUeen doesnt have regional varieties yet.
I agree seeing jadwiga on foot as a common person really does injustice to that person.
This would be sweet and be an interesting objective to protect in scenarios.
Having both AoE3 and AoE1 units as Scenario editor units in AoE2 would be a dream.
All AoE1 units could be added super easily by just copying the sprites from RoR, though the Elephant units might be looking out of place because the different scale, even if they use a smaller Elephant species. They would be perfect additions to Chronicles where they would perfectly fit in. Giving that game mode new units to play with.
AoE3 obviously has a lot more units with many of them being way to modern, like Gatling Guns, but some iconic ones that are from the time frame that overlaps with AoE2 would be cool. Having AoE3 Pikeman and Crossbows would allow some visual variety while other units like a Great Bormbard would be awesome for some Scenarios/Campaigns like a siege of Constantinople.
AoM could potentially work too. It overlaps with Chronicles for sure but the Japanese and Norse are very Medieval in their units. But maybe some Myth units would be more interesting. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a dragon in AoE2?
This would also help to promote the games. AoE2 has more players then AoE3 and AoM but those games are pretty similar and many AoE2 players haven’t tried them yet. But of course AoE2 content could be added to AoE3 and AoM but going from 2D to 3D is a little harder. You can relatively easily take the 3D model from AoE3 with it’s animations and turn it into sprites. Taking an AoE2 unit and make it work with the way AoE3/AoM handle animations and such will make them lose some of their AoE2 feel.
