Any chance of fixing the wall placement algorithm? Every time it places a square wall it makes me want to smash my screen, and it’s such a trivial thing to fix.

I have to say the support here by the developers is fantastic. Top notch, for years I thought Blizzard and Epic had the best team but you guys are right up there along them if not better. I tip my hat

I’ve thought of one: when MbL is playing late and there are no other top players on it takes ages to get a game. But even then it would be unbalanced.
Unless there’s something I’m missing here, this is just gonna lead to unfair games and longer waiting times.
All of those are not balance changes, those are a fix to consistently show how much faster stuff really is, Celts will for sure not get buffed lol
Also, it does not split the player pool that much if you can choose to queue for everything. It can end up similar to arabia ranked right now, where some things are only queued for by 1% of the players and therefore die off, but they dont “steal” playerpool from the healthy population of other options
Would be great if we could unlock the event cheat codes, that I think a lot of people missed

Dull? It’s plain and simple in my opinion.
I think most of us Veterans like the 2 shields on the top, we’ve had this for more then 20 years as well, for me this gives me the feeling that 1, I’m playing an AOE game, and 2, a medieval game.
I also like the idea that they made the menu simple and easy with it’s access, I know what I need to click on in order to get to what I want.
You have more options now on the main screen now.
- Campaigns
- Historical Battles
- The Art Of War
- Learn To Play
- Saves & Replays
Then a little shield icon and beneath that we’ve got ourselves a little option/setting menu:
- Editors - Options
- History - News
- Mods - Credits
And of course:
- Exit Game
Like I said before, when I look at this I see something simple and easy, it looks very clean. (Left Image)
But then when you look at the (Right Image) I kinda spreads everything out leaving us with less space and thus less options.
Just the fact that we now have less things on the left side is annoying. Takes away our freedom and accessibility.
We’ve never seen such thing in the Original AOE2, so why do they need to destroy the game for the Veterans? I will quit if they do this and not give a switch option.
They have to understand that people want the game to be as they remember it, for me it’s already annoying enough that they keep updating the game every week. I didn’t ask for this I just want to play like back in the days, there we no updates then either.
Now I’ll be really picky.
They take away everything to make this accessible for 12 year olds.
I’m sorry if I’m being a little B here but I’m 100% quitting if they make it so that you can’t change it back to the oldskool version.
Where is options?
Where is history?
Where is mods?
Where is credits?
Where is editors?
Where is historical battles? (oh yeah inside the single player screen, so you’ll have to know or find that)
Shortly, this is just annoying. I’m totally fine with this as long as they implement an option to change it back

The original CD version home screen was Netzer since it integrated things into a scene. I liked that.
De screen always felt too plain.
the new screen is better in being less plain but still not as good as CD version in terms of athmophere.

Yeah I really miss the CD home screen. I wish they’d make it moddable so everyone can have their preference.

Wow I just got back all those memories from how AOE2 main menu used to look, bring that back!

I find it interesting how some put so much emphasis on whether or not in-game menus are pretty. To each their own; I want bugs fixed and playability over pretty menus. Regardless, it’s a bit silly for debates to be happening now when the update hasn’t been released!
I do appreciate though, the fact that there are so many passionate people wanting to play and contribute ideas - it bodes well for the future of the game.

Historical Battles is obviously gonna be inside Single Player
You only need common sense for this

Kinda agreed. Except for the two shields indicating SP and MP, the rest wasn’t as decent as the older menus
