So. . . No preview, no release date, not even a picture? Only two flags?

Assuming this is a serious question, Denmark and Polish-Lthuanian Commonwealth. Probably to be called Danes and Poles in game.

The people that are supposed to work on aoe3 are working on AoM now so that’s what i assume that’s why aoe3 progress has been so slow since announcement of aom retold. Once the retold is released hopefully aoe3 will get new content again. And hopefully this will be the last European DLC, then from next year onwards theybwill focus on Asia, Africa and South America.

I absolutely tricked myself into getting overhyped for this event. All the same, certainly stoked for new content; I love this game so much.

Same here. I even created a big reminder thread on Reddit to inform everyone, all based on what the website stated - which it made it sound like AoE3 would get at some coverage, whereas you could actually just blink and miss the entire AoE3 section.

Yes, it’s like they announce something for 2 seconds of AoE 3, it makes them anxious and then they go quickly to red bull wololo… it’s very frustrating… the day they make a full streaming of AoE 3 I’ll make a wish…

Yes, anyway, the new historical battles for 2 DE are good… but it must be that they didn’t have much else to show either…

Of course, 20 historical maps of Europe xd…

Yes, between September and November this is the thing…September AoE 3 dlc, October AoM Retold and November AoE 4 dlc…

Yes, I mean it was more AoE Mobile and AoM Retold (they didn’t even show the Steam photos)… ultimately we blamed AoE Mobile for everything and that’s it xd…

Good point…although they could do it next year which is the 20th anniversary of the game…

Yes, I mean we already knew that both civs were coming, we were hoping for a bit of gameplay at least…

Of course, I mean we are grateful that they continue to give us dlcs and more so that we finally complete Europe (although I think that Greece and Wallachia or the Switzerland-Liechenstein civs meme may still arrive xd)…

Poland-Lithuania and Denmark-Norway…

Of course, it’s that simple (the other would be Polish-Lithuanians and Danish-Norwegians xd)…

Yes, next year at least 2 dlcs will be released for AoE 3 for its 20th anniversary (or 5th year counting 3 DE)…

I am satisfied (but because they showed AoM Retold and if you want AoE Mobile)…

On Steam you have the summary of everything…

I think that the excessive conformism of some people here (and elsewhere) is what keeps us from moving forward.

The way they showed the future content of AoE3 was pitiful. They didn’t even say the name of the civilizations (2 flags and run) nor did they show a bit of concept art. Then we saw a written summary where AoE3 wasn’t even included.

I understand about AoM (which they didn’t show it well either, since the images had to be after the model presentation), but that treatment of AoE3 was pitiful, once again.

Would you prefere them to not show anything and don’t mention AoE3?
If the development just started and there’s nothing to show- then what would they present here? It’s not a it’s not a coincidence that AoM coming together is leaving more space for them to work on 3DE.

Obviously, they won’t make another livestream event in a month or two, when they might have some key art and details set in stone, so it would result in announcing it on social media, forums and as normal news in the game’s hub on Steam.

In what way it would be better? Not mentioning it here, during AoE event, would be a letdown for many people, seeing it as confirmation of abandonment of support. This way at least people know bigger stuff is coming on the horizon.
Of course, it would be great if they could show more, but that’s obvious. They didn’t have more and decided to NOT show it. If they did- write some details.

That’s true…sometimes we could complain a little more, but they wouldn’t pay much attention to us either…they would say “look at that small community that even though we give them dlcs they complain and insult us”…

The thing is for them to be transparent, say things clearly to the public and then the community won’t complain so much.

“Because a part of the development team are working on AoM, AoE3 is now starting to develop this DLC with these civs (name civs and the general ideas they have with them). I know you are impatient, but AoE3 will still have our full support.”

A quick example and without much thought. It’s also not right to mix the 2 games (AoE3 and 4) together.

We would like to announce all AOE3 fans, we finally decide to create a new DLC folder in our computer!

Yeah, that’s how I feel

But where they are not transparent? Where they are misleading or lying to people about what’s coming up?

I’m asking for the source that justifies complaints. In that pre-livestream update, they said they would present a reveal. And- they did.
I don’t see anywhere them hinting at the depth of the presentation, or what exactly will be revealed, besides civs. And now we know civs, even if they didn’t provide any details.

95% of complaints here are a result of unreasonable expectations and they can be boiled down ‘I’d want to see more’, which is a ridiculous demand, because nobody has any clue, zero, about when this development was greenlit and actually started and what they have on their hands.
What you wrote is pretty much what they said, outside of specific admission of what devs and how many are working on AoM- because that’s their insider company structure and biz details and there is no obligation to share details like that with customers.

And- the ‘community’ is not complaining, individuals are. Let’s not get over our heads and take a handful of posts on a fan forum (visited by a microscopic portion of the whole playerbase-people that bought 3DE) as a stance of community, not that such a singular thing even exists in the first place.

They should make a separate livestream for those, or what do you have in mind?
All these games deserve a spot in this livestream. It just happens there’s barely anything to share about that DLC atm.

Not talking about you, but when you look at some of the other threads and posts, sometimes the amount of ingratitude is absolutely staggering. Especially when we the nature of that game into account- hard to point to another publisher of the size of Xbox Studios, that would support such a game, so long after its release.

It just happens that every time there is a livestream, they happens to choose a time where AOE3 happens to have barely anything to share.

We all know they threw a dart at the calendar to decide the livestream time, and it happens to land at a date where some big important mobile game needs to be announced, and when some other unimportant game has nothing to show.
There is zero, or negative possibility that they pick this time because they need to advertise the mobile game. No. Never. That is not the top business school move.

Of course, it is so difficult to do or say that…

Yes, it seems that this is something “unrealistic” and “above expectations” according to some who are satisfied with whatever they give and we should not complain because we should be grateful because they continue with the support.

Because some people like finding reasons and excuses for every mistreatment, and we are and will be welcomed with more and harsher mistreatments.

Spending an additional 10s pronouncing “Poles” and “Danes” and talking a little more about them or faking excitement is already a significant amount of additional work by their standards, imagine that.
Or maybe they can’t because even the names have not been decided XD.

Like I’ve seen a lot of streamers building up hypes with low information nonsense and announce something trivial. This time they don’t even bother to do that. “Hey by the way we have something else to tell you and here it is goodbye”.

okay, ill put it this way. how do you think we as a community would have been reacting if they made the livestream and made NO references to AOE3 at all? we would all be doom and gloom, sure i agree it is a little sad the DLC isn’t further in development and that we can’t actually see any of the units and designs, and it is a bit meme worthy they cant even say the names of clearly chosen civs.

but at least we know we are getting more DLC.

as for the name, maybe its a conscious decision, keep in mind these are very multi-national empires, only about half or less of the Danish European realm was actually Danish with Norwegians and Germans making up a sizeable chunk. with Poland we have Ukrainians, Prussians, Latvians, Belarusians and of course Lithuanians all being sizeable portions of the empire. there isn’t really an obvious catch all term like there is for spain and great britain.

You know it’s sad that this is our baseline now. See how low it has become.

Maybe we need to fight and riot every time to push them to spend 1min on AOE3 next time, then mention it in the event recap, then post dedicated tweets for it, and then the game will receive the same level of care every other game receives from their producers.

WE has among the worst treatment and communication of its product (even counting their favorite kids, which are just barely the average, which ironically make them stand out among the terrible treatment of the other games of the series) among the games I play.
I was fine as long as the games themselves were good and well supported, and because of that mentality I am now rewarded with a big flag reveal and a $12.99 “cAmPaIgN focused” DLC with 15 user generated maps.

That’s true…maybe they can’t decide what to call the civs…

Yes, Forgotten Empires has terrible communication and now on top of that they want to make us look as dummies…they want to sell us community maps for 15 usd for AoE 2, 2 flags for AoE 3, a pin for AoE 4 and a Rise of Kingdoms with the name of AoE Mobile…the only one that is rescued is AoM Retold (for now and as long as they don’t make the big Reforged xd)…

Tbh I feel better as aoe3 fan than aoe2 fan.for aoe3 at least we know we are getting new civs. Aoe2 instead is getting a new DLC with nothing inside
