you can always return it, is what I did
there is one, but he’s pretty poor at community management.
all these issues highglighted in beta. No idea why not fixed for release…
Don’t balance it with the competitiveness of professional players. Most ordinary players play the game, not professional players. If you want the game to die, balance it with professional players, and then only let lovely professional players play it
不要用职业玩家的竞技性来平衡,玩游戏的是大多数普通玩家,不是职业玩家。想让游戏死就用职业玩家来平衡,然后只让可爱的职业玩家玩吧
It’s impossible to balance a game like this. Actually, it’s much better to balance with pro players as they understand much more from the game. Most of the casual players don’t know how to utilize units in a fight, and when they need to change the unit composition.
But as I mentioned earlier there is no chance for this game to be balanced. Meta can be changed in every 2-3 months, and that’s all. (actually that is still quite fast).
I hate meta changes, that’s not the way to balance a RTS, this is not a MOBA, game need small balance changes no meta changes… Changing the Meta means to learn the game again and it is a wate of time for people like me that have a job, I played DOA for some years and left that crap because it was changing with every patch, you needes to learn again and again…if you play sc1 today is the same SC that 20 years ago and I love that…
Things doesn’t need to be perfectly balanced because it’s not possible with having these many asymmetric civilizations and more to be added in the future, without making them play the same.
As long as no civilization has any crazy OP stuff it’s okay to not be able to win every battle as all the civilizations have their own strength and weaknesses. We have to fine a common ground here and don’t expect it to be 100% balanced.
I played Dota too, a lot, I left it with the same issue as yours. But I have to admit it if there is no meta change, and constant update to a game, people will leave it quite fast, and it will be dead as it makes no profit. “Game as a service” is a huge pressure.
Riot games always forces the meta in LoL too, if they don’t the game becomes boring so they have to spice it up.
one simple thing:
pro will discover strategy to win, every Low Elo Legend will try to repeat this strategy (because 1. it’s fun 2.it’s fun to win.)
Exactly @breeminator, you get it. Thing is tho that @SanadaMaru1656 thinks Relic can fix all his issues or overal balance problems in a couple of days… Patience is a virtue.
They are patching the game today and hopefully they can squash some nice bugs.
Yes, I think meta is required, no one likes to see the same strategies on each tournament. SC2 is a quite good example, that game is extremely boring by now. As this game is based on math, as all of them ofc, there will be always a “best way” to play it. After 2-3 months it will become quite stale, and people will start to leave. That’s the problem of every multiplayer game. Mb except for fps games.
That’s totally false, counter strike is one of the most okayed game as game okay was never touched for a long time, just map updates, games that are good are players for years, also it is not normal that after 10 years people move to a different game… But game needs to be balance and changes for the sake of balance not for the sake of just change the Meta.
And what’s the problem with SC? It was release 10+ years ago… It did it’s job and still remain as a top rts… People get bored of a game eventually after 10 years, people that love that game still play it or do you want to play age IV for 100 years ? Again changing the Meta just causes players to leave the game, a game has its rules like a board game it you constantly change the rules the game becomes a different game.
“Mb except for fps games” Counter strike is an fps game.
Constant updates and balance changes makes the game alive, and gives something new always. If someone don’t want new challenges then they can play something else. Dota 2 changes all time, and LoL too, they have extremely huge playerbase. So no, meta doesn’t mean that the game will be dead.
Lots of old CS players left the game because there is no weapon balance, generally people play with ak47, m4 and awp.
check any SC2 youtuber or streamer and ask him, what’s the problem. First is “no balance patches”, the second u can find out yourself.
may be they would leave and will play in “broodwar”, but who cares? Every forum have “whining” that vanilla is better, but after they all disappears.
And check any steam chart + huge update patches → the rise of playerbase. SC2 /Dota/Aoe, Huge update → the rise. But u can keep be delusional thinking that “updates” killing game. Keep play Broodwar. Or CS 1.6
Lol dudez sc was release 10+ years ago… People eventually move to other games, the game is finished period…
A game needs to reach the finish state…
One thing is an update to fix issues or balance issues and other is an update to change the core meta of the game… When you do that at the end you end playing a different game that the one you bought, with mobas this is different cuz they are free, but me and my friends we stopped playing dota because the game never ends we were tired of learning the game continually waiting for a final balance patch… those games are terrible their balance is all about 20% of heroes pickable and the rest useless…
