We just need a Joseon Korean civ and a Brazil federal civ and attract those populations right? (Worked for South Korea in aoe2!)
Koreans and Brazilians are great choices for new DLCs. I think Vietnamese will also be great addition since lots of Vietnamese play AOE 1. Persia is also an utmost priority since one of the 3 gunpowder empires then finally Siam/Thailand the only Asian nations not to be colonized by any of foreign powers.
Yeah, I don’t get why AOE3 isn’t more popular. AOE2 players want more civs, yet they are all very similar to each other? Why don’t they just play AOE3? Maybe they just can’t give up the overpowered castles and towers in that game? I played AOE2DE for 1000 hours before AOE3 DE came out and after the AOE3 DE ludicrous zoom (Which I have set to max zoom out at almost all times) was implemented I never have played AOE2 since. Also more time is wasted in AOE2 in the first age before anything happens, AOE3 is much more streamlined and quick about getting to the action. I think its just marketing or lack thereof. AOM is my favorite game though, once DE is released it might be bye bye AOE3, as long as FE is involved and not relic…
Compared with Korea, which has no military achievements and has long been a va ssal of China, Vietnam, which is expanding southward, or independent Thailand are more suitable to join as new civilizations. The greatest military achievement of the entire Korean Lee Dynasty was to seek help from the Ming Dynasty in time to help them defeat the Japanese, and to surrender to the Manchus in time…
Yes, I laughed ironically saying “hey those ships are a man of war and an Ottoman galley, but they’re not the experts, what will I know?” xd…
Yes, that’s why AoE 3 does not take off, because they promote it fatally…
I doubt it, I think they will take out one more dlc of AoE 3 in spring and then they will put full AoM and they will alternate between AoMR and AoE 3 DE…
AoMR will be a DE version…Take it easy…
True, I think that AoE 2 will no longer receive dlcs of civs, at most a dlc of the Caucasus and African, no more…instead AoE 3 still has room to put the Danes and Poles in a Baltic dlc, then Persia and Korea and finally Burma and Siam…then separately they can go putting the American nations as until now (Brazil, Argentina, Gran Colombia, Haiti, Peru and Chile, etc etc etc)…
Maybe it’s because of the historical period… The colonial period does not appeal as much to the general public as the Middle Ages, I like it for the Musketeers and Caribbean pirates…
I really thought there was gonna be a Brazil DLC announcement at this thing considering Brazil is celebrating its 200 years of independence. A missed opportunity regardless of what civ one wanted.
Persians and Omanis (Arabs) are best suited as new DLC.
Bringing the currently lacking Middle Eastern content to the game.
Of course the Brazilians are also very likely in the next few years. Although I personally don’t expect too much revolutionary state civilization.
Cannot support Korean civilization for now. It’s not one of the best options of new civilization in my opinion.
Maybe just maybe there will be an Asian/Islamic DLC next year to go along with the spring update.
If the pattern held a single civ DLC would have been on the docket to end this year on and Brazil made sense from a marketing standpoint. Lots of South American civ requests and AoE3DE is popular there.
I really wanted Morrocco too but I’ll end it there as this discussion will meander into what civs we want lol
Sure, the same i think they will anounce that in December for Xmas campaign…
Yes,an Asian dlc in May how happened this year…
