whats 9000 res in a treaty 40min?? what?? I would understand your point in supremacy but I specifically mention treaty late game having the ability to generate influence as that’s what cannon’s and native cost which are the backbone to treaty 40min games
You obviously get more than 9000. You get 3000 worth of resources for all alliance units (those should be roughly 8 or so), all native tribes, so in reality, the costs are more like 90000. Now not sure what you do in treaty 40, but 90000 is not something to joke around with.
As I said, influence is both their weakness and their strength, it is all up to the player. It is a way to up the skill cap of those new civs. If you could just freely spam it, then they would just allow you to gather it directly with villagers.
moonshadow sums it up well, im just pointing out how much inflated score that it represents with all those shadowtechs, with those 3 being the sorta basics. In tr40 think how much wood you save not upgrading units to guard and imperial. nevermind the uh… well yeah th3 cheaper mainline unit upgrades too. The game cannot possibly be balanced around tr40, im sorry. Its along the same linea as india getting bottomless gatherable export. imagine them being able to spam consulate units. it would be ridiculous in supremacy to have massable royal guard hussars alongside the already-questionable insanity that is sepoy/urumi/siege elephant. Africa has it even better with the influence per kill tech and shadowtech natives
I don’t disagree with not having treaty as the rubric but the shadowtech is not as friendly as yall suppose except for artillery. Maigadi are basically useless (DUE TO COST AND QUE TIME) and so are the merc musk with the 19 splash dmg (too low of a dmg and can’t hold their own vs cav among having basically everything at mass counter them). While having native shadowtech is nice it’s only really beneficial for dva skirms and berber cav. Sadly for the berber you can only have 6 of them so they’re not OP. Lastly natives actually cost Africans MORE than other civs since influence isn’t NOT easily obtain without racking your eco, your cows, or being on a long tradepost map (which most of those map don’t have the better natives). I believe they added the shadow tech to incentive Africans going native.
Anywho influence gather rates aside. Hausa is a base building civ by design yet you’re not sufficiently rewarded for playing in that manner. Churches should be cheaper or generate more otherwise they will continue to be niche instead of standard. Likewise with griots, 10% production is just too insignificant to be worth creating this unit for eco purposes. And griots don’t start out with splash so way to micro intensive and with only 16 range.
