Sorry but nobody likes this casual rank

Your elo isn’t affected in lobby games, that’s the problem. That’s why we need old military ranks on browser games, to have better balanced lobby games.

I was very happy when I touched colonel rank with the old system. I didn’t stay there long but it felt pretty good. Now I’m just a number. It’s fine but it’s far easier not to give a crap about it.

This shouldn’t be necessary in a healthy game. Legacy age3 worked totally fine without relying on discord groups and we all loved the multiplayer.

For those dudes saying lobby games don’t need to be competitive…

Competitive doesn’t mean playing with high level players. But games that are not balanced, even at low levels, where one team just stomps another, are not usually fun for anybody.

Having the old ranking system allowed us to make fair games. For example, one noob and one veteran player on the same team vs another noob and veteran player. Or, one veteran and an AI vs two noobs. I am all for having different skill levels in lobbies together. But we can spread the experience around and still get fun games this way.

This whole discussion should also go hand in hand with a better friends list that shows us who is online and who is in game.

I’m also at the point if I wonder whether queued team games are even worth it. The issue is we don’t want to split to pool of players too much, which is what I am sure the devs are worried about. It already takes 7-8 min for a team game, and that is with a large skill gap most of the time anyway. I think I would be in favor of only having que for 1v1, and then having a separate rank for team games using the old system.

the problem to make fair games, its less games. More quality maybe but not assured.
Even though ive heard taht in ranked quee also a elo 2000 plays versus elo 1400. So nothing is fair.
Even in legacy nothing was fair.
The problems is that fairer games give less games, but maybe higher quality games.

Por favor quiten el rango casual y dejen un elo como en las clasificatorias…Es imposible jugar balanceado porque nunca sabes cómo balancear los equipos, el rango casual NO determina si un jugador es bueno o malo y es frustrante jugar una partida donde tu aliado no es capaz de sacar ni si quiera unidades porque no sabe, cuando los demás tienen hasta estrategias muy elaboradas…Los más novatos querrán jugar con los novatos, los rookie con los rokie y los pro players con los pro players y si hay 2 pro con 1 rookie podrás elegir en el otro bando 2 pros con otro rokie, ahora mismo es imposible porque no se puede saber qué nivel tiene nadie. Y tanto pros como novatos como rookies se aburren…Quiten este rango de una vez y pongan el mismo elo para todo o al menos dos elo, por ejemplo de clasificatoria y de casual. Pero lo ideal es sólo un rango, en el age of empires 3 normal ponían rango como capitan coronel etc, es mil veces mejor que esto que han puesto, llevamos con este problema desde el principio del juego y muchos clanes estamos cansados…Si no es posible o es muy complicado, repongan todo tal cual estaba en el Age of empires 3 Legacy que permitía perfectamente saber cómo eran los rivales y dividir equipos para balancear los juegos.

Please fix this casual range, it is unplayable on random games or trying to balance on room…
Another problem is the casual range never move when i win a lot or loose a lot of game…why??

I’d guess it works like elo, you need to beat people better than you for it to increase significantly and avoid losing to those with a far lower rank.

I´m playing a lot of time, I have 5 stars and belive me when I say casual range never move´s…I lost a lot of games like 20 doing nothing on game only to see if the range change or not…And never moves…

Anyway, all people I speak about casual range say the same, “you can only look at the elo because the casual range is not valid”. Then, there are a problem beacuse people is not playing rating games…
If u try to play balance looking casual range, is Unplayable, u can only balance the game in rated games.

The stars are for total games played so they won’t move unless you stop playing for a long time, it’s the other lines that indicate skill level.

People see “casual” and assume that’s good for beginners, and they see “ranked” and assume that’s for good players / pros.

It’s actually the opposite. If you’re a low-level player, play ranked so you can get matched vs people your own skill level. Only play lobby games if you have a training partner or premade teams already set up beforehand.

Ok, then, why in casual range, players with the same casual range are pro players and another don’t know go 2age until min 7? And sure they don’t know play, Both with 4 stars or more. Its the reason of this post.
Si no tengo jugadores para jugar en equipo en lobby, no puedo jugar entonces porque me va a emparejar mal?? Y si me emparejo con gente de alto rango de elo y no quieren jugar con nosotros por el elo a pesar de tener el mismo rango casual?
Cómo puedo jugar con el resto de jugadores del servidor y saber qué nivel de habilidad tienen para hacer emparejamientos si el rango casual no me dice el nivel que tenemos…?

because the casual ranking system is not designed well, because it doesnt have an actual function. just play ranked and use ELO as a measure

This is very interesting. I don’t play AoE3, but why would they change this system? What did they replace it with?

Lo reemplazaron por un rango militar sin nombre, por galones, pero no funciona bien el cálculo que hace para saber qué nivel tiene cada uno. Ahora todos añoramos el funcionamiento original del aoe3 en el modo en cómo se calculaba el nivel de habilidad de los jugadores. En cuanto a cómo se llame el nivel, si va por galones o tienen nombres militares, es indiferente.
Tanto el emparejamiento automático del juego como los propios jugadores, son incapaces de balancear los equipos porque los cálculos de la habilidad de los jugadores están mal hechos.

Esto es desesperante, sólo puedo jugar con amigos del clan para balancear los equipos, desesperante…

si haces eso el ranked 1vs1 busca rapida muere inmediatamente y solo encontraras farmeadores de elo que solo juegan el mismo mapa y te sacan de la sala si juegas una civilizacion que ellos no quieren

seria bueno conservar los dos tipos de elo, los de ranked y otro elo entendible para las partidas creadas

o que al menos los desarrolladores expliquen como funciona el casual rank, con numeros peras y manzanas
