Are these different enough to get own factions?

Expanding Fronts already added First Order and Imperial Remnant. And yes, they are very different

They are going to have to remake several campaigns to readapt them to the new canon of the saga…

They do not exist in the new canon…

@SuperfrycookSB, do you actually refer to

Yeah, but instead of the Original and Clone Campaign have been reoganized into three separate campaigns:

  • Prequel Trilogy Campaign
  • Original Trilogy Campaign
  • Sequel Trilogy Campaign

So you do refer to something separate, @SuperfrycookSB? Please link to it (if you haven’t already; otherwise, direct me there, for I’ve not found it).

Is all made up / poor writting, he is expressing his wishes.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Definitive Edition doesnt exist and has very low possibilities to be made. Age of Empires devs had tried to contact Disney but Disney have given 0 answers to their messages.

The closest to a DE for SWGB, it was you have found, is the Expanding Fronts mod. QoL improvements, new civs and a ton of scenario editor but sadly not much campaign content.

You can find a deeper explanation of why SWGB DE probably won’t be made some messages above by me, is a direct copy of EF discord message on the subject

In really, it’s could be like the campaign pages of AoE 2…

In the Precuel Trilogy page: Attichitchuk, OOM-9, Gungans, Sev’rance Tann, Echuu Shen-Jon

In the Original Trilogy page: Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Chewbacca

In the Sequel Trilogy page: Kylo Ren, Rey Palpatine (never in the life Skywalker xd) and Ahsoka Tano (her series is after the battle of Jakku and the Return of the Jedi)

Actually, this one will be better:

Reworks and More:

  • The Arc Troopers are added as a second unique unit of the Republic. Arc Troopers are advanced infantry units that are effective against infantry and mechs. Can be trained in the Troop Center in the Fortress Age and can be upgraded to Elite Arc Troopers in Advanced Age
  • Starting Ages are also reworked: Landfall Age for Tech Level 1, Colony Age for Tech Level 2, Fortress Age for Tech Level 3, and Advanced Age for Tech Level 4.
  • Rotary Troopers are a unique regional unit upgrade of the Heavy Trooper, available only for First Order, Galactic Empire, Republic, and Sith Empire.
  • Adds two more campaigns; Barriss Offee for the Prequel Campaign (Republic, Player Color: Orange) and Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger for the Sequel Campaign (Resistance, Player Color: Purple)
  • Definitive Edition has improved voiceovers (Including the voices of The Clone Wars’ Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, The Clones, and so on…)
  • New intro themes for all factions during the start of the game.

Please don’t write fan request content as if it’s actually happened, it creates confusion.

What’s even the point of it? These requests should be sent to the Expanding Front developers, not here.

We need an Order 66 mission where you play as the clones.

Inportant to note that Expanding Fronts don’t take suggestions to add new units on existing civs. But they also doesnt on new civs (they lack modellers and animators, so they go slow).

I always assumed Disney and EA had the SW IP rights buried in a legal super-vault, but apparently Nightdive Studios can make a SW remaster. Microsoft and the AOEII:DE devs can certainly negotiate a remaster of the Galactic Battlegrounds. A dream come true IMO.

Yeah, devs if you read this, press harder if you can! OFC, a SWGB remaster should go like the RoR DLC (same engine, not a fork) and go by hands if you can with Expanding Fronts team!

In the vein of what I wrote earlier, Star Wars: Battlefront 1 + 2 is apparently also getting a remaster. Maybe Disney truly have opened the floodgates for 3rd parties to make remasters?

I hope so… it is the only remaster of the Ensemble games that is missing (besides AoM Retold)…
