Strange Marketing and CC around the Three Kingdom DLC

Great findings! It’s like I thought about declining sales, but I’m surprised ROR and BFG aren’t higher (they have high number of Steam reviews).

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully this gets fixed.

Oh, lovely, it just keeps getting ‘better’.

Also, I take this back. Rather than a regular fix, it seems they bumped every non-Gold medal by one, which means if you replayed any campaign while waiting for the fix (which I did) you got a free silver or golden medal you didn’t really work for.

I KNEW IT! I KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN!

This is why I didn’t play any scenarios, to make sure that didn’t happen.

There are just people who saw Three Kingdoms and decided to pay for it, as this theme attracts the attention of consumers from the Sinosphere. Some of them don’t really care what the game is supposed to be about, and may complain about the complainers “the devs are willing to continue to provide new content for an old game, why not support them”.

Well, now I have gold medals that I didn’t earn. It feels like I cheated.

Seriously, how did they do this?

I’m not playing the game again until they fix this, and also revert the campaign medal changes.

Almost forgot to check the Imam.

Also, unrelated to the bug, but for some reason Temujin uses AoE1 priests to represent Shamans. That’s such a bad idea.

I actually checked in-game after someone on the wiki said the bug wasn’t a thing for them, and it isn’t for me.

Really? Then it might be a mod.

Edit: yes it’s a mod

Edit 2: Deactivated it, but I also included that complaint in my review so I have to remove it from there. lmao

It’s possible. Also, I checked the medal thing, and the only ones that are gold are the ones I completed during the dark age of no medals.

What about the official mod? Does it work or not?

What official mod? (20 chars)

With the last patch and DLC, V&V needs a serious overhaul of its asian scenarios (Temujin, Nobunaga, Shimazu)…

My mistake, I thought we had an official mod for these

Its a China DLC

China stuff sells well in China

Three Kingdoms is also a popular topic in the entire Sinosphere

Meanwhile a 3K review with 70+ thumbs-up: “Angry Chinese characters about how the game’s identity has been betrayed”

Yeah but AoE2 still has a relatively small foothold in China, and this DLC is selling well

For an RTS in China, and specially one as great as AoE2, any publicity is good publicity
