The game does not show the Moscow principality, you need a complete processing or a separate civilization on the example of Sicily

I understand you just do not know what was in Russia in the 15-16 century, so I think that you are just confused.

I hava an idea what it was. But I know that even if taken as slav civ invcluding Poles and Chechs, they also had gunpowder but despite all those nations had it in that period for balancing reasons the civ is not given. Same goes for Magyars they also had gunpowder but they are designed around early medieval times a more steppe oriented civ like the mongols, huns and tatars with good light cavs and cav archers.
Same goes for brits they also had gunpowder and great fleat none represented in the gme because they have OP archers already. The slav civ design is not not made around 15/16 century slavic states (none of them) but around Kievan Rus from earlier period and this doesnt mean it dont represent period of history of Russia, quite the opposite.

it’s not whether they had gunpowder or not, it’s how often it was used, and we should not forget that the example of another civilization can not justify mistakes in other civilizations, if only because it can also be a problem(bombards were the number one siege weapon in Russia, we had a whole production culture)

and this is the problem that I have already voiced

Dont think either of them is a mistake. Its a game and not the most historicly accurate one. Many indians dont like why they dont have heavy cavalry or no battle elephants as they had one of the best for example. Meso american civs never had xbows or arblests or heavy armoured infantry but here you go.The civs in the game are just an ispiration they just take one particular moment in time one or two unique units and build around it. Combine this with the fact there are quite alot of civs already and all of them should be balanced and have some unique feel at the same time. Well than even more compromise is made with the historical acuracy.

I undertsnad that 15/16th century period you hold more dear. It is just the times before are also relevant and representative. If you want more historically acurate game I dont think AoE2 will get any better at this.

I understand, but most of this applies to Civs with a poorly studied history while there are well-made civs, and I have already said that the problems of others can not be an excuse for mistakes here

I don’t think the developers would say that

Age of Empires 2 most certainly is not very historically accurate game. The devs probably would not say anything about it but they know better than anyone they re taking liberies with history in favoure of gameplay and balance. Yet again the Im not too sure the civ in question is so historicly inacurate its just focused on different time period.

Cheers man. I just hope you can enjoy the game as much as possible. Its just a game

Well you should split the bottom two how much is French, how much is Scottish

Im much more boring than you. I got 6.25 Armenian the rest should be Bulgarian

I don’t have enough of family tree recorded for the French side and my small brain doesn’t want to calculate it for the Scottish Irish Welsh whatever side :stuck_out_tongue:

It would be good for them to add some Russian/Slavic/Byzantine looking emperor/king units, Queens, merchants and Eastern Orthodox priests (in black cowls) for Byzantines, Slavs and Bulgarians. This would help and similarly they could add priests and a skin for the Pope Leo editor unit.

Well, there are hundreds of kingdoms, etc. which are not individually depicted, and are broadly β€œcovered” by some larger, similar enough empires. It’s not out of spite or hatred, but out of practicality. Age of Empires would have taken many years to make if it had to have hundreds of different civilizations.

Which would have ended having so many similar civs/countries to pick that only difference is that one civ has one different unit or tech.
