Too bad for you, I don’t think it’s changing.
It’s funny how you think having more women in an army is immersion breaking.
And sorry you think being woke is a bad thing. Imagine the privilege.

As I’ve already said it doesn’t really affect me, I’m still gonna play the game.
I didn’t say it was immersion breaking, I basically said itd be more immersive if they got it right.
Being woke is bad when history is ignored to fulfill modern agendas. At what point do we start forgetting or covering up real history while fulfilling modern agendas. Games like Aoe often serve as a basis or gateway to get people intrested in history, I myself am pursuing a history degree due to playing aoe2 as a kid, and it served as, a basic, but solid basis to go on to learn about Medieval history. Not only that but it’s disrespectful to those in the past, imagine if it was the reverse and women in history were replaced with men, having Joan of Arc be John of Arc and being a Chad sigma male would throw people like you into a frenzy. There are plenty of female figures and soldiers in history, why is there a need to try make male ones female.
Overall as I’ve stated this multiple times, this doesn’t affect me, I’m still going to play the game. Through studying history I know for the most part what’s fantasy and what’s not in this game, or when things are overexagurated, however there are little things like having units be the correct gender that can give more immersion, especially as it was marketed as a historical game, and not a fantasy one.
Maybe have a think before saying dumb things like “I’m privliged” for appreciating history or “you think having women in an army is immersion breaking” even though I didn’t say that. You sound like a whiney woke sjw that wants everything sugar-coated in rainbows and pixie dust, do you actually know anything about the Medieval era? Do you realise how gruesome it would be to see someone hit by a fully armored knight on an armored horse charging with a lance? Or even the amount of oppression and terryfying acts went on in that period? Spread your woke agenda somewhere else where its ok to, stop trying to sugarcoat history.
The biggest issue is that you think the game is about history when it’s really not. The franchise so far is not historically accurate.
Like, grow up kid. Understand that just because you are (or will be) a history graduate doesn’t mean the world will try its best to reflect what you’ve learnt at school. It does not work that way. And it goes to show your privilege.
And for the record, I’ve done my fair share of learning history in high school. I am now doing research in physics so yeah, I may not be a historian, but I do understand what it was like in the medieval times.
At the same time, this game isn’t trying to be representative of medieval society. It just wants more players. So I’m okay with that since it’s not a simulator.
AoE3 has an entire civilization and has estates and plantations and no mention of slavery anywhere. If you train military half of the troops are people of color even before emancipation.
I REPEAT: THIS GAME IS NOT A HISTORY SIMULATOR.
The theme of the game is based around the Medieval era, I really don’t think I should have to say that, but apparently I do. Just because it’s not 100% accurate, doesn’t mean the game isn’t based on history, what an idiotic thing to say. Not only that but the game was constantly marketed around its historic basis, I remember seeing the devs showing off how a real trebuchet worked before showing any solid gameplay. Literally every campaign scenario you unlock videos showing off various Medieval technologies. The civilization design is obviously even further than what aoe2 pushed it in terms of reflecting history.
I never said I wanted everything in the world to reflect what I’ve learnt in school (for one I’ve barely learnt any Medieval history at school I’ve had to pursue that myself) my point on that is that the game is heavily based on history, as I’ve said multiple times, therefore it can do little things, like getting genders of soldiers, right (feel like I’ve had to say that 3 or 4 times now). To put it simply, my expectation is that a Medieval game, marketed around its basis in history, can do little, non gameplay affecting things, in a historically accurate manner. I still really don’t see why you have to say I’m privileged over this but it does just show the agenda you’re trying to push.
I’m going to stick with criticising aoe4, aoe3 era isn’t an era I’m very familiar with although I do know about some woke changes they made that I’d rather not open this up too.
I feel like I’ve made my arguement very clear at this point and it seems you just keep saying things I’ve never said or exagurating what I do say so unless you’ve got some actual points to make or can actually criticise my argument I kinda feel this is over.
Also if you go to the steam page and just have a read, all the descriptions constantly mention it’s historical basis, the official trailer frequently has those edited scenes of modern day places with the ghosts or whatever showing its historical past, the main caption for the game is “make history your story” implying it’s historical basis.
Some excerpts from Aoe 4s steam page that show its historical basis and heavy history based marketing
“you are immersed in a rich historical setting”
“4 distinct campaigns with 35 missions that span across 500 years of history from the Dark Ages up to the Renaissance”
“Choose Your Path to Greatness with Historical Figures – Live the adventures of Joan of Arc in her quest to defeat the English, or command mighty Mongol troops as Genghis Khan in his conquest across Asia”
People are annoyed with you because you’ve been arguing in bad faith. Flip flopping between saying the game is ‘not woke’ because it’s not set to 50/50 to saying it may be but being woke is not bad. Both are fine but you can’t argue one and then the other. Decide what your opinion is then stick with it don’t change it for convenience to try and make others look bad.
no one cares about it being 100% accurate, since it’s a videogame, and this must be the most stupid post ever. It’s impressive how can you be bothered by something like this, what a snowflake
The game developers marketed the game to be historically accurate and educational.
So yeah, I do care!
well, i’m sorry you’ve have been misguided. They will never ever fix it, since it’s not a bug by any definition
They’re historical to the grander picture overall, but the individual pieces are basically entirely fabricated.
Also lmao, you’re bothered by some of the warriors being women but not the fact that there’s no presence of sickness, moral isn’t a thing, the Mongols can fight the HRE, the actual age system itself…?
You are cherry picking things you don’t like because you perceive them to be “woke,” not because there’s genuinely a problem at hand.
It is AOE game why we need sickness, moral…
You are out of game’s main characteristic…
You clearly have no idea what is AOE!
