Wouldn’t that be AoE1/RoR material?
I can’t wait for the possible american campaignssss. I miss the classic medieval stuff.
OIC. That’s why my next pick on this will be Mapuche ![]()

True, but it’s still very late… at most you could include a Lautaro campaign (1553-1558), but little else… you could do like the Aztecs who can use cavalry in their campaign, but only for one or two missions…
Yes, Olmecs (1200-400 BC) are better for Retold…for AoE 2 you can have Toltecs, Mixtecs, Chichimecs, Purépechas, Zapotecs (many lasted even during the Spanish conquest between 1520 and 1600)…and in the Andes, Huari/Wari (600-1200), Chimú (900-1470) and Tiwanaku/Aymara (600-1480) (the latter later conquered by the Incas at the end of the 15th century)…
Yes, it’s a shame that Chronicles has become so important at the expense of Return of Rome or even 1DE itself… we haven’t played in the Middle Ages since The Mountain Royals, two years ago (VaV doesn’t count because it’s just a collection of simple custom scenarios)…
It wouldn’t fit in too well either, but at least they start in the Middle Ages…
If we only had a Chinese DLC with campaigns for the Jurchen (Founding the Jin Dynasty), Khitan (Founding the Qara Khitai Khanate) and Chinese (Fall of the Yuan Dynasty). Oh man, what a missed opportunity!
Yes, exactly, and the TTK DLC could be for Chronicles… Wanyan Dynasty for the Jurchen (1115-1234) (like Hauteville or Bari, it would involve fighting against the Chinese and the Khitans, and in the final missions against the Mongols, but without being able to defeat them), Kuchluk for the Khitans (1204-1218) (it would take place after Temujin and between the first and second missions of Genghis Khan’s campaign), and Zhu Yuanzhang for the Chinese (1352-1368) (it would take place during the Red Turban Rebellions and the final mission after Lake Poyang)…
So, nothing else about the new DLC?
I don’t think we’ll see anything until February/March…
