NO MORE PLEASE. The game is getting very complicated. Imagine being a new player with all the dlc civs, all the strategies and all merc and native units. I like the skins, events, new game modes, and maps but no more civs please. This game is not like AOE2 where civs had minor differences so more civs were not a problem.
a few factors which i think are most important when considering what new civ to include:
-
historical relevance/significance
civ with huge influence over global / regional events during the AOE3 historical period, some good civ to include are Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Persian / Iranian civ, Burmese. -
regional representation
a middle eastern civ is still lacking, so Moroccan, which already exist in the historical battle, or a Persia civ.
a south east asian civ. -
market acceptance
the USA and mexico civ are done for this obvious reason. These countries have some of the biggest gaming consumer population.
so Brazilian is likely.
bro I agree. Ive been playing and studying this game for 2 years. Theres too much going on already and moreover balancing all these things is insanely hard. We don’t need new dynamics in a very complicated RTS already
me sorprende que haya algunas personas (los menos) que no puedan adaptarse a nuevas cosas, la idea es hacer que un juego se mantenga fresco y con todo esto lo consiguen con creces
I still say More Please!
But under the proviso that we eventually get clearer symbols and tags for unit types for quicker identifying, as I find that it’s the lack of symbology that is the main issue.
Yeah, that’s why maybe we see PLC,Denmark,Persians,Burma,Siam,Morocco and Brazil in the near future…
I would like to see two more: Vietnamese+Argentina/Gran Colombia
Of course, actually I would put Vietnam and Korea in one dlc and Argentina/Gran Colombia in another…
Siamese with Korean. Persia with Omani. Moroccan with Zulu. Brazil with Argentina. If 2 civs dlc continue.
Siamese with Burmese, Korean with Vietnamese (considering that the first are from Southeast Asia and the second from East Asia)…
Vietnam is much closer to either Myanmar (Burma) or Thailand (Siam) than to Korea.
so far all the new world nations have come as solo civs.
True, but geographically Vietnam and Korea are in East Asia, Burma and Thailand are further south…
I think a DLC containing Siamese, Burmese and Vietnamese would be really concrete.
Regarding Korea, yes…the south of Thailand is towards the southwest of Vietnam…
If it were a classic expansion of AoE 3 like TAD yes, but I don’t see the Vietnamese in the same dlc with Burmese and Siamese, except that they reuse many units among themselves as happens in DoI in AoE 2…
I hope not, at least not like WoL’s Brazilians.
That civ design was cursed.
