Updated the Chinese Mastery Path of the Spirit to require researching all upgrades within the Spirit Way Landmark.
Prior to update, Mastery requirement: “Construct 6 buildings affected by the Spirit Way Landmark’s reduced dynasty unit costs.”
Issue: Unable to complete Mastery
Only 4 possible research upgrades
Built all possible landmarks first then Spirit Way last
no upgrades at all till Spirit Way (literally not one single upgrade in anything)
Tried both pre patch and post patch challenge
no mods / no cheats
Stock maps
Confirmed able to complete other masteries
Verified games files
Reinstalled game
Found comments/forums with similar issue
Had a friend test this and they’re experiencing the same. Found similar experiences in reddit posts/YouTube comments. Every Chinese Mastery past #9 is locked until this issue is resolved since they have to be done in order.
I have the same problem. I’ve been trying to complete it for days, but it just won’t work!
I’ve looked at steam forums and other AoE discussion groups and it seems random whether people are actually able to finish it or not. For me, nothing I try will complete it.
Tried to complete after latest patch on xbox and windows. It’s still bugged and no way to advance. Was hoping it will get fixed after patch.Pls fix asap🤞
Pls fix @devs. i set myself the goal to first pass masteries and then start campaign. a bit odd i know, but this is a dealbreaker for me with 5 remaining civs (including chinese) iin progress. even tried beta settings on steam, but didnt worked out. i tried this 3-4 hours :c

According to the tech tree there should be four upgrades available in the Spirit Way building:
1.Upgrade Zhuge Nu to Veteran Zhuge Nu
2.Upgrade Veteran Zhuge to Elite Zhuge Nu
3.Upgrade Fire Lancers to Elite Fire Lancers
4. Ancient Techniques
I have been very careful to start in Age 1 and build all the buildings in order, for both the progress Age and Dynasty.
I have also been very careful to NOT research the two Zhuge Nu upgrades and the Fire Lancer upgrade other than in the Spirit Way building.
At least I know it is not just me now. I have been trying for weeks!
If this is NOT a bug and there is some variation that none of us in this forum have discovered, then could someone please give us a clue? At least tell us there IS a solution because at the moment I am going to have to assume there is no solution and stop attempting.
This issue is still in game! I researched all 4 techs from the spirit way yesterday, still no pop on the mastery. Please fix!! Mastering Chinese civ cannot be done without a fix.
It is really annoying,I am down on my last 2 achievements Chinese Mastery and Complete all Civ Masteries.Now we are stuck,was hoping to 100% it before the DLC drops next month.
