I have both AOE 2 HD and AOE 2 Definitive edition as of today, I get the box saying it’s about to load on steam and then just shuts down. I’ve reinstalled it twice, reset pc just incase, reset internet again just incase nothing seems to happen.
I tried loading HD edition up to check if there was something wrong on my end and that loading up straight away without any issues.
Any ideas otherwise I’ll just have to refund the game and move on?

i’ve got ethernet cable directly from the router to the pc as well… When i click play i get the bar saying ‘running’ for literally 2-3 seconds and then stop and goes back to ‘ready to play’
Just to add to this, i’ve tried literally all my steam games and they all seem to load. Stemming from AOM, AOE 2 HD, Counterstrike, Total War Rome II… It’s just AOE definitive edition that isn’t working.
Sorry for the spam… After getting nowhere with it, checking multiple videos and forums i’ve decided to get a refund and uninstall the game for good.
