ISSUE EXPERIENCED
Sometimes if you have multiple units selected and move them somewhere, they won’t respond. I can’t recall ever having this issue before, tho admittedly i’ve been playing for nearly 20 years, so don’t take that as gospel, but I found it particularly noteworthy that it happened three times, over the course of about 10 minutes in a single game.
at around 1:01 i move some cav and then 1 by 1 move the ones that didn’t respond originally
just before 1:03 I noticed my stuck eles and move them one by one
Both of the above groups of units are shown in the screenshot. The screenshot was taken just before I realize they’re stuck and move them 1 by 1.
At around 1:12:20 I have 4 or 5 cav, that won’t respond to my command and I have to move them 1 by 1.
This is shown in the video I took.
After this third incident I saved the game, the save file for which is attached below.
I’m not a great player, I know it’s very possible that I made a mis-click, so I thought the first two instances were weird but I couldn’t know for sure. Once the third happened tho and I had the where-with-all to capture it on video while I tested it, it seemed clear to me something abnormal was going on.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
In the context of number of games, well I played this specific scenario once so 100%, I’ve only noticed it in this scenario so like 1%, and of the numerous times I moved a group of units in this game maybe 1-.1%, and of games that i’ve played where this has happened perhaps < .1%…so IDK how to characterize the frequency of the issue.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
I haven’t the foggiest idea. Play the level and maybe a couple times some units won’t listen. I usually really try to be detailed with these but IDK what to tell you.
The only thing I can say is maybe attack move has something to do with it. I’m a pretty lazy player when it comes to controlling my units, I rely on attack move about 80-90% of the time, which may or may not be common. maybe excessive use of attack move contributes to the likelihood of the issue occurring??? Other than that I don’t have much useful to share with you.
EXPECTED RESULT
Units shouldn’t ignore move commands when in a group, but listen to those commands when commanded individually. This isn’t some situation where they’re all tangled up in each other and they can’t pass through each other. 2-5 units in a basically open field, sometimes when spread apart, should be able to move as a group when commanded.
