[Vote] Dawn of the Dukes most anticipate civs

It depends on what we are talking about, you may think the Chimu are closely related to Incas because they werent far away.

Its really not in some cases particularly in the case of Poles or Armenians (compared to Georgians or vice versa).

What I would like is some current civ alterations:
Vikings.

Have Vikings lose free hand cart but instead have their longboats be able to attack as well as transport units (loses transport ships) and gift them cheap trash units.

African ,Mezzo,

African and mezzo civs should only have canoe navies. Able to fire arrows ,fast ,agile and only using 0.5 pop space but they don’t have access to Gally line ,nor fire ships, nor cannon. Gallons. All canoes can carry/transport 3-5 units.

Byzantines.

Change civ unique tech 1 to : Justinian Reforms - Sword line +1 Melee armour.
Enables the technology of Varangian Guard in Imperial age.
In Imperial age , Byzanitne army gain access to a special unit in the Barracks called the Varangian Guard. - Expensive , slow moving but difficult to convert with a limited build amount.
(Highly loyal guards of the Emperor)

Unique tech 2 remains Logistica.

Lose Hand cannoneer.
Trash becomes more expensive but Civ gets free wheel burrow and free hand cart.

I want to say the name of the DLC is “of Dukes”. I am not sure whether Georgians had dukes…

They had their own version of dukes called “Eristavi”, and a lot of their prominent duchies became kingdoms during the fragmentation of Georgia.

DLCs are just named to be cool names.

There where never 95% hungarians in Transylvania. And saxons were more than 5%. If we talk about the Hungarian Kingdom, then in Transylvania cities were saxon, nobles were hungarian, peasents both hungarians and vlachs, some regions were dominated by the first, some by the others. Ussualy, the higher the ground, more romanians. Another special case was that of the Székelys. Regarding the nobility vlachs only had members on the small nobility, most of them switched to catholocism and where later on “magyarised”. The most famous of them was Ioan of Hunedoara (Hunyady).

In Wallachia, the rulling elite was of slav/bulgarian origin (also some cuman), but that’s all. The peasants were called “rumân”. Guess why?

Moldavia was populated by vlachs after 13-14 centuries, from Transylvania, first under hungarian control, and later on their own.

If you dont care fine. But make a good argument.

Dont say that they are more important to you and thats why they should be added, make an actual argument for them over far more powerful civs

I sure hope you’re right. A Smash Ultimate fighter reveal one week, and then AoE2 civs revealed the next? Sounds exciting!

Which is why the Polish unique unit should be the Two-Handed Axeman, the original plan and something that Sandy Petersen wants to see.

  1. why do you respond to a 3 day post now if you’ve already seen it,?
  2. why do I need an argument to have my own opinion if you never even give any when critizing other people’s opinions?
  3. you likely already know the answer, but since you had to ask again:
Firstly, a healthy majority would prefer such medieval knight civs over some in your eyes “underrepresented” native tribes you keep asking for.

When you ask for an

when comparing advanced, medieval european military to underdeveloped north american or indian tribes?? How can you expect an answer?

Neither would win a war given same sized armies against the likes of Georgians, who could even hold their own against the powerful Ottomans- adding native tribes would be ridiculous and a mockery of this game.

Those things dont go well togheter if talking about India and Im not talking about America rn. Im talking about Africa and Asia.

I didnt read it beyond the first line because I thought you werent going to still continue the argument beyond that point.

Not true in the case of India, and “same sized” isnt a good way to consider any empire. Size matters.

Anyway not arguing about America

I give an argument actually when talking about civs from the old world so I dont know what you are talking about :man_shrugging:.

When talking about American civs I just talk with someone when hes spreading BS or just saying that that those civs are cool but honestly I dont think theres any need of them with a limit and even without a limit they are not a priority.

Tbh Waris and maybe even Chimu were more powerful for a longer time than Croatia, Finns or Wallachia so they arent that bad.

We lost both Piątek & Milik & the tournament starts in 3 days! :frowning:

What are you talking about? Which tournament?

I just wanted to take a break from those forums considering I have exams and I see no point in further discussing Dawn of the Dukes without any new pieces of information.

The tournament will decide if we get Poles or Georgians 11
