Prague is the name of the game!

Change names:
Slavs → Rus
Bulgarians → Bulgars

No. Bulgars does not even make sense for a settled civ with Slav architecture.
The ingame Bulgarians are no longer Bulgars.

Also, no need to change Slavs, I am hoping the new civ will be Wends, and cover both Poles and Bohemians.

I don’t think they’ll do that to be honest, or the Poland fans will riot.

Wends are Slavs (West Slavs?), as well as Serbs, etc. This is why i think the name of the existing Slavs civ should be changed.
But perhaps it does not matter. Perhaps the Wends don’t regard themselves as Slavs? I have no idea :grinning:

Wends is a medieval denomination for West Slavs, which makes a lot of sense for a game set in the Middle Ages.

No one cares, to be honest. The game does not need another Hussar or Knight civ.

I do agree with you, but Forgotten Empires knows its customers too. There are surely ways I haven’t thought of which are probably a bit gimmicky to make another cav civ. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Excited to see what the Bohemian UU is going to be, considering Koreans already got the War Wagon. An AOE mod gave the Bohemians the Trestle Gun which was some kind of Imperial Scorpion unit which I though was kinda cool.

I am hoping Bohemians/Wends will be the first civ without Trebuchets, and will have a Bombard Wagon instead as the UU, to replace it.
Castle Age Mini-Treb inti Imperial Age Super-Treb, sounds like a cool UU design, and woulñd add a 3rd Siege UU to the very limited current roster of 2 (Organ Gun and Flaming camel).

It would also be VERY unique.

Khmer Ballista Elephant is also a Siege UU. Despite it being healed by monk rather than repaired by villager, the game classifies it as a Siege Unit.

Oh yes, I forgot about Ballista Elephants.
Siege UUs are still the most rare of all Land unit types, however. Rivaled only by Water UUs.

If there must be a West Slav civ, I do agree that Wends are much better than Poles or Bohemians.
Also, if there should be a civ in the area of Netherlands, Frisians can be a good choice, isn’t it?

Frisians are already kinda represented by Burgundians.

There already is: teh Burgundians.
They were designed specifically to cover ALL the Low Countries during the Middle Ages.

Otherwise, they are just Franks 2.

this is good :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: thanks.

I just think that the Frisians has more Nordic characteristics.

Does not matter.
In reality, the Goths were a Heavy Cavalry Horde, not an Infantry people.

Gameplay over History, as always been the AoE way.

Serbia can cover Water UU, with maybe addition to Infantry UU.
Sagena longboat (similar to Viking Drakkar, it carried around 40 men) - Sagena ship was used by Serbian Adriatic pirates (9th-11th century) known as Pagania or Narentines pirates, their leader had a title Judge.

Additional Infantry UU could be:
Buzdovaner (heavy infantry which commonly used flanged mace, this wasn’t unique only to Serbia, however flanged mace Pernach or Šestoper/Shestopyor somewhat was).

Since there are too many Hussar and Knight UUs, these can be added.
