{VOTE NOW!}[DESIGN COMPETITION] Beautiful Screenshot Competition - Enter Now!

If I were you I would re-submit it with a higher resolution (Windows key+Print Screen key). Otherwise no one will be able to see your picture clearly.

i should be able to resubmit it tomorrow, the reason i didn’t already is because i have to move units which could change the scene
and that’s against the rules right?

It’s not a problem is the screenshot is the same. The resolution is a disaster right now. :o

it won’t be entirely the same, as some units are moving (like the trade cart)

and it is a bit zoomed out

Lots of work went into this - well done! The one thing I noticed was how linear everything is - it reminds me of modern city blocks when if you look at old cities like London or Paris or Rome etc the cities often have very haphazard layouts. Cities built up along water features and roads - the roads would be built on the best ground possible and that often meant they didn’t make many neatly laid-out blocks like modern cities. Regardless - the scene looks good thanks for putting it together and sharing it with us. Cheers!

Yeah it is well made but a bit too much congested imo. As if, there is no space for citizens to roam. It looks like a multiplayer game (wall of houses)

Thank you

The state of tenochtitlan that I wanted to depict is one rebuilt after the sack and destruction of the city by Cortez. It’s basically a “new” city, rebuilt to match european standards, and if you look at the depiction of the city in historical records, you can see how neat and tidy the city looks like, with rectangular residence blocks and straight roads.

i don’t know anything about Ibn Battuta and his life and legacy, what’s not right?

Ibn Battuta leaving the Camp of Golden Horde

Crossing the Black Sea, Ibn joined the Caravan of Kipchak Khan Ozbeg, King of the Golden Horde. When they reached Astrakhan, Ibn Battuta learned that the third wife of the Khan was pregnant. The Khan gave her permission to go back to her father - the King of the Byzantine Empire - to have her baby in Constantinople. Ibn Battuta asked the Khan if he could go along and also got permission.

Here is a great article describing Ibn’s experience while he was with the horde: https://orias.berkeley.edu/resources-teachers/travels-ibn-battuta/journey/lands-golden-horde-chagatai-1332-1333

It would be nice if the Yurts that form the Cuman Wonder could be made into separate editor units…
