Select all military units hotkey is a very useful one, because with a single command you can gather all your troops in one place. Otherwise, you would have to search your troops on the map or constantly put all your military into control groups. And even if you do that, you’ll need 2 or 3 commands to do the same task you can do with only one command using “select all military units” hotkey.
The problem is, when playing aztecs, this hotkey is virtually useless. Because when you select all your military units, it also includes warrior priests, which are usually tasked to the community plaza and almost never used to attack anything. So, if you still want to use this hotkey with aztecs, you’ll have to unselect warrior priest from the list of all your military unit types, which messes a lot with the utility of the hotkey, because requires more commands (apm). Otherwise, your warrior priests will be constantly abandoning the community plaza, which ends up in a waste of resources or boosts.
The other native civs do not have this problem, because priestess, or llamas, or healers are not classified as military units.
In short, i’m asking to remove warrior priest from military type units, so this hotkey is ends up being useful with aztecs, or at least make an option to decide whether we want to classify them as military units or not.
I don’t really use “Select all military” command but i do use the “Move all military” command and the issue with it is the opposite and that it never effects warrior priest that are working on plaza but effect healer/priestess THAT ARE working on the plaza.
I often use “Select all cavalry” and “Select all infantry” shortcuts. Warrior Priests are being selected for the second one. It is soooo annoying.
Similar threads were created many times on forum. It would be good to finally fix this issue. And with autospawning Warrior Priests to Community Plaza directly if selected.
Those 2 fixes would make Aztec gameplay much more enjoyable.
