Fair enough, hah. All I know is that he isn’t happy with her design.

The problem is that they could have included true Spanish Conquistadoras like María de Estrada (México) and Inés Suárez (Chile) (Or many others). I don’t think that including a flamenco dancer is a bad idea, but it could be better, something more appropriate for this game.

I figured the female villager explorer skin was a nod to the aoe2 Spanish tech Supremacy.

Most likely it is the first, considering that it was used since the French Revolution and throughout the Risorgimento, in addition the flag of the kingdom of Italy is by the house of Savoy, and the last flag is equal to that of Denmark, so if they put the Danes it would generate confusion …

A flag a little bizarre, although they could be the flag of states to advance in age …

Italian card (IV): Inventions of Da Vinci INF (sends you 5 organ guns from the home city)…

I wonder, when will the most anticipated civilization of the game be released, the republic of capybaras?

And the battleship cards, just gives you complete control of water instantly even if you have zero boats. What can you do against 2 battleships.

Otherwise spain has been given better cards than british, only one I use is siege archery but it’s more of a meme card and occasionally greenwich time but it’s very dependant on the map and enemy civ.
2 Haciendas is really good for the transition to mills and estates basically 2 mill and 2 estate card saving a ton of wood. The year card is great if you have more than one tc as well, also 7 lancers. Only bad card is the conquistador one.

If Spain could get a boom option and a late game eco buff (which is not their “traditional” playstyle), by the same logic Brits could get a late eco buff, even a small one.
Right now Brits is still a “race to a more advanced stage before everyone else” civ but their maximum strength is average everything. They just reach that stage faster than others in a 1v1.

2 battleships is acceptable cost-wise but the timing is too strong. It’s like 1 falc vs 2 falcs. Maybe it should be 1 battleship and battleship limit +1 (once), with reduced cost, and then you can use the infinite card to get the second one.

The card is too good I think, your suggestion seems a better option. Currently I can have complete control of the water and spain hit 4 and 2 battleships just drop and destroy everything, they’ll beat any boat, tc, fort, towers etc.
Only thing that stops them is like aztec with water dance. But if your opponent has nothing on water it doesn’t make sense to train 15 boats just in case they send the battleships but if you don’t you’ll lose everything.

I’d imagine Chinese fire ships could also take care of them. And it’ll probably become less of an issue once more civs get Battleship cards of their own.
