Now that Europe is soon to be complete in aoe3 (except maybe a Austrian revolution) what other major powers are missing as civs and which places don’t have maps?
For the time frame of aoe3, civs that were present the whole time and had their own identity would be
- Persia
- Morroco
- Siam
- Korea
Areas that are not represented by maps in the game are
- Southern Africa
- The area of Iran
- Australia and Oceania
If one could dream we could have 2 more DLCs that would complete the world
Rulers of Islam with Morroco and Persia that bring in maps from Persia and Africa and New natives like Afghans, zulu etc
Seas of the East with Korea and Siam that also cover Australia and Oceania maps and aboriginal natives.
Of course there are unlimited numbers of minor powers that would be possible, but with this we would complete the world with minimal effort.

Burmese with Siam definitely missing, feels weird to have Bayinnaung as an AoE2DE campaign where it fits the AoE3DE timeline.

I would replace Korea with Vietnamese and Burmese, it add more interaction with Siam as a whole SEA focusing DLC
Korean would better suit as a native house with high representation in chinese and japanese.

As we talked about Persia and Morocco, why not DREAM about a “islamic faction pack”:
Morocco
Barbary States
Persia/Safavids
Tatars (maybe change the in-game Tatars to the Siberian Tatars?) (a BIG maybe though, bc. we already got the Tatars as a Native Civ)
And finally splitting one of thei biggest adversaries (the Germans) into Prussians and Austrians?
One might dream…

Europe : Austria. Adding a Greek revolution for the Italian, Maltese, Ottoman, Russia
Morocco and Persia. The two big islamic powers of the period not yet in the game.
Southern Africa is empty, Zulu need to be added as a major civilization with some southern african native : San, Khoikhoi, Pygmy, Masai.
Brazil and Argentina in South America. A paraguayan revolution, maybe a mapuche one. Fuegian as a minor civilization. Some minor civilization in northern South America to replace the Zapotec here.
Korea is a must have because of the turtle ship.
Some south est asian civilization like Siam.
Oceania with the Maori and the Hawaians. Need new mechanic fort hose polynesian civilization. For minor civilizations : aboriginal, Rapa Niu, Kiribati (with their rope armor and shark teeth weapon), papuan, micronesian (with a Nan Madol architecture), penitentiary colony.

However far flung it might be, I hold a glimmer of hope to see the Haida or Tlingit someday.

I want an Oceania themed expansion.
Just new biomes, naval overhaul, loads of naval maps, Australian maps while we’re at it as well.
Hawaii and Maori as new civs with a completely new culture.
Just go all out into featuring this part of the world that’d have a hard time showing up in any other Age game.

Man, AoE3 still has a lot of potential civs. Parts of the world still not covered are:
- Subsaharan Africa: Benin, Asante, or Dahomey to name a few.
- Middle East: Persians nor Arabs are in the game. Not sure how the diferent arab dynasties could be condensed into a single civ. The Persians could mainly represent the Safavid Empire.
- Southeast Asia: Burmese, Thai and Vietnamese are potential candidates.
- East Asia: Koreans.
- South America: If Mexico can get its own civ, why not Brazil, Gran Colombia or Argentina?

Uh… all the civs you named are West African.
Like sure they kind of are Subsaharan, but they are a stone-throw away from where the Hausa live lol.
Polynesians would be ground-braking for an Age Of game.
Plenty of depth for both Hawaiian and Maori in terms of potential shipments, units, buildings, etc. Not sure of a ‘regional’ playstyle quirk/mechanic, but I’m sure there’s one they could have to differentiate further from other civs.
And… er I just want to fight against the most bad-ass named opponent, King Kamehameha

A Guaraní civ and more maps for southamerica
Gran Chaco divided in:
- Chaco Boreal, rivers at the south with trade post, hills on north with trade line, half humid half dry, llamas and guanacos everywhere
- Central Chaco, forest and rivers on top and bottom, grassland in the middle, no trade line, full of perils
- Chaco Austral, rivers on the righ with trade line, forest on the left and a little pampa
Pampas Sierras and Minas Gerais divided in:
- Paraná Forest, a big river with tons of fish and abundant wood, has trade post on land and water
- Pampas Sierras, more grassland and, you know SIERRAS (mountain range)
- Cerrado, wet savvana that is very dry in winter
- Minas Gerais, same as before
New minor natives settlements, with a twist:
- Payagua: Lords of the river, can be on land and transition to water after a animation deploying their canoes, can fish(on canoe mode), good againts infantry and take bounty on destroyed enemy buildings, if their trade post is destroyed, they are adquired by gaia and attack everyone on range. Present on: Chaco Boreal and Central Chaco.
- Mbaya/Caduvéo: Fast riders on horseback, good against buildings and settlers, if their trade post is destroyed, they are adquired by gaia and attack everyone on range. Present on: All Chaco maps.
- Aché/guayakí: good at hunting and collecting food, collect food while chopping wood, good at scouting, huge line of sight, can work on stealth (closer units reveal them) Present on: Pampas Sierras and Paraná Forest.
- Tupi: now can use the foot-shot mode; increased range for attacking buildings. Present on: Cerrado, Minas Gerais and Paraná Forest.
I will elaborate further on the concepts in another post

Yes, we hope the developers can add the Boxer Rebellion so that military units can be upgraded from feudal China to Qing Dynasty China.

You know what I desperately want to see? An Antarctica map set. No, I am not joking. With all the Artic stuff being added and whaling ships being in game, Antarctica could fit and I could live my childhood dreams of fighting battles in the Antarctic (yes, I was a weird kid).

Whilst China and India have both technically been implemented, I think they both need an overhaul with some revolutions to better capture how they changed over the centuries.

Other than as a gimmick map I don’t really see Antarctica working.
Tierra del Fuego however…

Bohemia and Austria.
Perhaps Wallachia, Persians, Tatars.
As the devs will see when this recent DLC releases, Age of Europe will sell copies. If more people actually bought the African civs, for example, I don’t believe they would’ve given up development since there would’ve been a nice looking line on the graph for the suits to see at the quarterly board meeting. Mud huts, throwing spears and herding cattle just doesn’t have the appeal to normal people that wings, a 20ft lance and plate armour has.
If somehow the devs got convinced to add something like Benin or Ashante, I think we’d immediately see the support drop for the game when the suits don’t see the line go up at the quarterly performance meeting. I think Oceania would have the same problem.
More Europe.
Let’s see them Fortified Wagons happen as a civ playstyle.
