civilazation designs( maybe fewer civs with diffrent play stilyes and tech trees) or things like cav archers fire while moving

Release date, for gods sake.

Obvious things apart, I really want to know more about the gameplay. Will it be more like classic AoE in terms of economy, or will it have something very different? Asymmetrical civs will play differently in everything, or only in some few aspects? What about population caps? It would be a HUGE turndown to have a tight pop cap in this AAA medieval RTS… but specially I really need to know if it will have a deeper basebuilding component or not.

Probably the campaign, which they teased quite a bit as something that no RTS has ever done before. I am very curious to see what it’s all about.
Also, something about the naval warfare-if it exists.

Automated tournaments like in Starcraft 2

LE: I misread the title.
Im curious about the pathfinding, if it’s finally good, and how well optimized it will be. And of course the civs, which and how many.

The civs and how different it is from AOE2.

The scenarios, Historical Accuracy, the variety of strategies, the general view of the game. The game looks raw and innocent in the video 1 year ago. The size of the game is surprising, but the war has not been accurately reflected. It looked like sweet soldiers fighting in a fantasy world. If this game was the age of mythology, anyone could love it. I think the game should look more impressive.

Civilitzations and the multiplayer plataform. The aoe2 DE had huge upgrades, and I expect some improvements like division, personalization, reqards…

I’m interested in Civs and their mechanics.

I’m mostly interested in knowing about the release date. I know the Pandemic has shaken things up, but the game was announced over 3 years ago. I’m hoping for a 2021 Q4 release.

I’m curious how the endgame economy works like.
In AoE1/2/AoM you run out of stone and can only get gold through trading.
Eventually you run out of wood (way quicker in AoE1). You often have to build trash units in long matches. AoM doesn’t have trash units but you can trade with yourself.

In AoE3 you have estates(plantations before DE) making wood the only resource that runs out. There are theoretically trash units that only cost food and wood but because you will have more coin than wood in the endgame they are actually more expensive.

Will AoE4 have an endgame way to get stone?
What methods of collecting gold are there in the endgame?
Is there trading? How does it work? Does it work in a 1v1?
Are there estates? (One building in the trailer kinda looked like one)
Or are there other methods like mines that just give less gold over time but never expire like in other games.

How trade will work.

How diplomacy will be implemented.

I feel these were the most underdeveloped parts of the other games.

Bad news for you. According to interview the diplomacy will be bare bones in multiplayer. At last as in 2019.

A release date.

We’ve been waiting for way too long. They say the game’s complete and being polished, then why are they being so silent about it? It’s very frustrating. It’s not like they were giving us blog posts about the civs or anything, last time we’ve got news was 2019. And it was just a trailer.

I wonder why they even announced the game so early.

That let’s us assume that the development didn’t go so well at first.
There were rumours about problems with the development in the year before the trailer dropped.
The newest entry in the news section just directly says that the game is being delayed by them switching to home office. That might also have delayed their PR plan on when to release what news.
I hope they tell us about more details early enough so we can give feedback before it’s to late.

Damn really? That’s disappointing, I don’t just want another AOE 2 with better graphics. I also want deeper gameplay :frowning:
