Without the fields it would be just another Hacienda…
Cossack content should be reserved for the Ukrainian revolution.
It is fine as it is now.
The Cavalry Archer should be the Royal Guard for Polish civ - his name should be Lisowczyk. The second Royal Guard I think could be a Rekrut - it should be called Piechota Wybraniecka.
The YouTube channel Forgotten Weapons recently did a video on the Kalthoff repeating rifle, the first type of repeating firearm to be used in warfare.
The gun is currently depicted as a technology for the Oldenburg house, but I could easily see a skirmisher unit using this weapon to fire defeats shots before reloading, like the Carbine Cavalry.
Personally i think both Denmark and Poland should show their multicultural constructions, last i checked Poles and Danes weren’t either more than 50% of their respective states ethnic make up. Surely one could show the minorities that made up said countries militaries and Cossacks where used quiet a lot by the polish crown.
In the case of Poland, there would be enough of a multinational factor if the base units were typically PLC. Cossack units could be sent using HC cards. In addition, the Cossack Hetman could be one of the elected Politicians during Age Up - this could give access to training of Registered Cossacks (loyal to the Polish Crown). “Polish” Tatars (invited by John III Sobieski) could be sufficiently represented by HC cards.
In this way, the Polish civ would represent Poles, Lithuanians, Ruthenians and Lipka Tatars.
Haven’t seen a lot of talk about unique buildings. Poland has 2 fairly obvious choices that I can think of:
Sejm - Replaces capitol building that can be built early on and has unique technologies.
Synagogue - Serves as a secondary “church” building. The Jewish Golden Age in Poland corresponds to the game’s timeline, and it would be cool to finally have all 3 major Abrahamic religions in the game. Not quite sure what it would do, but I know the definitive edition devs really love nodding to the game’s historical potential. Maybe it trains a unique rabbi unit in addition to some other purpose?
This makes sense; the PLC did not have a parliamentarism similar to the rest of Europe. The Polish Sejms were held in the fields near Warsaw - therefore it could be a more inconspicuous structure than a building. A field with a decorative tent and a throne surrounded by Polish banners.
An unexpected suggestion. I was thinking about creating a Jewish Minor Civilization - this could work with Polish civ.
