What would we like to see for aoe2 in 2026?

Missed opportunity in the last DLC.

We have a campaign where you play 3 Chinese factions building Shinto Shrines while most Europeans got the correct Church based on their version of Christianity.

We deserve a Sinitic architectural set ngl. The current East Asian is just Japanese.

Speaking of architecture set, I want 4 new - Sinitic, Nomadic, Caucasian & Andalusian.

Caucasian shared with Byzantium perhaps?

Who’d get Andalusian apart from perhaps Portuguese? Iberian Muslims are represented by Saracens, we don’t have a dedicated Andalusian civ yet :frowning:

I see it is east Asia not Japan. What are you understand about east Asia architecture?.

I’m definitely not an expert so for details you’d need to Google a bit, but one element of the current “East Asian” set that screams “Japan” are the evepresent paper walls. There are some mods that fix this, but the devs shouldn’t rely on modders to do their job.

Armenians rework to be historically authentic.

Byzantine architecture set for Armenia, Bulgaria, Byzantium, Georgia.

Regional skins for entire unit roster to match architecture set.

3K removed from ranked into its own legends tab.

World peace and an end to hunger.

Only way to have that is to get rid of all the people.

Medieval Chinese and Japanese campaigns

Yes. And maybe Bulgarians.

I didn’t research on Portuguese. My primary concern was Spanish and Berbers. Middle Eastern don’t really match Berbers imo.

And Berbers.

Correct. And I’m not sure if we need one when we have Berbers and Spanish.

As a first step, I would like to see a visual overhaul of the following heroes: Saladin, Genghis Khan, Charlemagne, Charles Martel, El Cid, Barbarossa, Reynald de Châtillon, Richard the Lionheart, Robin Hood, William the Conqueror. Simply because they played a prominent role in history and therefore deserve a unique appearance. In addition, the archer of the Dark Eye should also receive one; the crossbowman is completely irrelevant.

I’ll expand about maps : more real world maps, possibly presented with a menu on a world map.

Another reason why we need a proper East Asian DLC.

There are civs that haven’t had a campaign yet. They can start to complete ~25 years old veteran AoK civs like Chinese, Japanese, Turks, Vikings.

Especially bad for major civs such as the Chinese and Turks. It would be like not having a Frankish Saracen or Byzantine campaign.

All things considered, we don’t have a Byzantine campaign either :upside_down_face: (no, a fictional family doesn’t count when we could have Belisarius, Heraclius or that old dude who did a little trolling in Bulgaria)

Hopefully that can be fixed someday tho.

I would want for either the nomadic architecture set to fit barbarian civs (Goths primarily, but hopefully in the future Vandals and perhaps Saxons too) or for there to be a seperate barbarian architecture set. I agree with Sinitic and Caucasian (with it being done in a way that can include Byzantines too, which I believe is doable) I’m not sure on Andalusian to be honest. As much as I want an Andalusian (Moorish) civ, I wouldn’t be too upset if they just used the Middle Eastern set and Porto still used the Mediterranean set.

And if rumors are true that a South American DLC is coming next, then I’d love to see an Andean architecture set for Incas and whatever other South American civs may be added.

And I know this probably won’t happen, but if my Mississippians hope ever comes to fruition, i’d want them to have their own North American architecture set too. But that one i’m not holding my breath for.

That mod from yakko yes, but only 1 gate shinto in monastery can make we remember about japan, but the bronze bell it is important in Buddhism east Asia, glaze tiled roof is important too( yin - yang tiled roof) too different is just have some think decorate on the roof with spirit beast. And some think more. And the most important is confucius he is in university it I’m high preciate the dev, it most think I can see the culture from east Asia. Only castle before I still think it from China not Japan. Bamboo. V.vv all think from east Asia culture. Even Mongol do not be long this area just a part nowday I can call 4 civ in east culture you can called ( Viet(Yue), Korean( south and north), Japan, and China). Other not, ( jurchen and khitan they indeed is China). Mongol different Yuan, Start they do not learn Confucius culture so architecture the same not much from they you can see, but after Yuan established they change to confucius to control people and use architecture from Han people.

Jurchens and Khitans and Thais and Tibetans added as civs. With Tibetans getting a unique set. 3K was a scam.

East Asian Monastery without Torii Gate.

This could easily work for a Filipinos civ as well.
