What would you like to see in Myth Retold?

When you select Treaty another option may also appear where you can choose that as soon as the Treaty ends, the construction of Wonders is prevented for 10 minutes or more, or the construction of Wonders is prohibited.

… real. In other topics, you like to use sarcasm, etc., but now you’re trying to twist the conversation. I didn’t mean to offend you with my words. If you felt offended, maybe you can take this as an opportunity to improve and stop making claims without being certain.

This game doesn’t even have the option to disable Wonders, among other basic features that are missing, so they definitely didn’t include an option to change the language within the game. That would be asking too much.

I would love more campaigns.I think it would be the most fun for each campaign to be around 12 missions long and focus on one pantheon each.

Point taken. Constructive criticism accepted. (and yeah I can be twisting with my words but often unintentionally I would rather like most ppl would understand me how I really mean it - you too, right?)
Anyway won’t give any help as long as I am not 100% certain what the one asking wants to know. My fault.

Honest question: why is this thread still open? Wasn’t it meant just for pre-release?

I don’t know either. Since the developers are on vacation anyway and don’t provide any feedback to the community, this thread has been useless from the start. I highly doubt that anything here has been taken into consideration to change something in the game, and I say that without irony.

Because it is a forum and there are discussions still going on  It’s not like it was dormant for a year or two and got brought back to life recently, as would be the case for necro posts which often bring out the alarm bells.

Also, nothing implies that the thread should only exist for pre-release. And there is no forum rule that says “once a game launches, you must cease all discussions in a pre-launch thread”

The game launched, but people can still have good ideas for what they want to see in AoM:R, especially since they now see what the game has

I think it’s best to probably flag it to a moderator if concerned or if you think it breaks rules. When you click a post to flag, it gives you a link to the community guidelines and mentions some other stuff before actually flagging it. So you can always preview that info and back out if you don’t want to go that route – if you weren’t sure if you wanted to do that. If you flag it as “Something Else”, though (one of the options in there), it actually gives you the opportunity to write a note to moderator(s). I really don’t know if moderators want posts or threads flagged the way I describe, but it might work. I suppose you could instead find a moderator name somewhere in the forums and private message one of them directly.

Just my opinion, but I think that’s better than subtly publicizing one’s discontent for a thread being open, as it will sometimes bring folks sensitive to that sort of thing, like me, out of the woodwork (sorry about that)

PS: If you have replied to this thread in the past and don’t want to get notifications on it anymore, you can always turn off notifications for it (I think it’s the “Tracking” button at the bottom of the thread), and/or even mute individual users. The latter is a little less intuitive to do, but I can help explain if you like

An absurd and unnecessary amount of aggressiveness here, don’t you think? As he said, it’s an “honest question.” Just respond appropriately to the question, no need to start a firing squad.

Not at all, it was an honest answer. Many ideas that could help. Aggressive is a pretty inflammatory word to say there, blowing it way out of proportion. It was far from aggressive

I do admit that I’m a little sensitive to their type of post, though. It maybe was an honest question, but they’re clearly calling for the thread to be closed in a not-so-subtle and not the kindest way, in my opinion. It was less of a question, and more of a statement (i.e., rhetorical).

I could have been less direct in my reply, though, for sure  I’ll look at editing it down a bit. Thanks for the feedback, _MarakuJa1!

I understand that sometimes conversations get heated here, and we end up overstepping in how we treat each other. But we can all clash here, in my opinion, if the goal is the same the clash is fair: To make this game the best it can be. :face_with_monocle:

Exactly – I hope AoM:R gets better and better by leaps and bounds over time, and sooner rather than later. I would have loved to buy it at launch, and would still like to someday… but it needs a lot of improvement and care first to draw me in

Yes, probably (most likely) they will include a 9-mission campaign for each pantheon they include, as happened with The Titans and Tale of the Dragon…

Yes, I bought AoMR Premium Edition on New Year’s Eve and in a week I finished all the campaigns and now I’m halfway through Arena of the Gods (although I put it aside a bit to play some Chronicles in AoE 2) and the truth is I’m delighted and hopeful for Immortal Pillars…

Would be great if we were able to command the ox cart where to go while it is being constructed.
Also would be great if we were able to queue commands to an atlantean unit while it is being converted to hero.

Same with town centers while they are not being constructed yet. While the villagers are going to build them. Actually I would like to see this in every construction 11’

  • Would love to see corpses brought back (though I know this won’t happen).
  • A fourth God for all current civs (Bring back Hathor as a major Egyptian God).
  • All myth unit upgrades making visual changes to the unit (Neirds etc.)
  • Rework on the visual upgrade of Promethean. Sorry, but his upgraded version looks aweful
  • The next civ being Celtic or Babylonian (I personally don’t feel Aztec/ Mayans fit well).

True, in retold they are ugliest in a bad way. 11

Maybe more about Asian mythology like Japan and maybe a new campaign about it, for more variety.

I agree the upgrade is just too much their basic form without face and glowing parts is so much better and looks honestly way cooler than the old AoM version (which also had a hint of a fave and generally looked one of the most silly of all units back then in my opinion)

Yes, I much prefer the base form/ model. It’s a bit gangly, but doesn’t look over the top. The upgrade has far too many competing factors and its a visual dogs breakfast. It also doesn’t make sense. Alluvial clay is sedimentary. Why would they have lava inside them? Could I suggest something simple like a darker texture and a few subtle glints of gold/ minerals for the upgrade.

It is said that after the Chinese come the Mayans/Aztecs and then the Babylonians… Japanese/Indians may be, but if you include the Babylonians before that there would be 2 Asian pantheons in a row and I think they will try to alternate between continents and regions: I think that after the Babylonians, they will include some African pantheon like the Yoruba, then the Celts, then the Incas and then finally the Indians or Japanese… maybe you could include some mythological civilization like Lemuria (south of India)…
