Yeah it would make more sence.
Who actually said that? Was there an official source or a credible leak I’m unaware of?
Once again, Lemuria is not mythological
Lemuria is fake shit dude, that belongs in the weedsection. Put your blunt away and take a break.
For the Scenario Editor we need triggers that can adjust the scale of units.
Through unit-triggers, protounit-triggers, army-triggers.
To adjust the X, Y and Z of units. That would make the editor so much more amazing.
There were references to Lemuria in the original that have been removed in Retold.
I would like to see engaging short and repeatable experiences on Solo and PVE
I would like to see better and easier tools for modding!
I mean, it’s a possibility based on the Return of the Gods mod and the fact that we still don’t have an American mythology, for example you have the Chinese DLC in Retold and now in AoE 2, then later you will have the American DLC in Retold and in AoE 4…
Ok ok I was just mentioning it because the Atlanteans are “Lemurian descendants” (at least in the classic game) and to justify a mythology of southern India without being Hindu per se…if not you have Zealandia and Mu as other “lost continents”…
Of course, that’s why I said it last year…
The Titan Theia, goddess of sight, ruled over Lemuria, the most loyal and advanced of Atlantean colonies. The Lemurians were tall and lithe, but were best known for their keen vision - a boon from their patron goddess. They were employed as scouts alongside Oracles for much of the Atlantean empire. The island of Lemuria was destroyed when the brother giants Ephialtes and Otus piled up mountains to reach Olympus, including the mountainous Lemuria.
Ultimately, it would justify having a Dravidian civ (pre-Hinduist Chola Empire) with units from the kingdom of Imerina, but as predecessors of the latter…
“proposed”
Doesn’t mean its real.
You don’t know Atlantis is also fake?? its a “mythology”.
Well i guess weren’t in the right game, okay i’m outplayed.
I think the best bet for Indian rep in the game would be finding Indian devs willing to help design the civ (like Virtuos with the Chinese), not put them under a fake name.
Colossus needs a boost to his special ability. Currently it appears that when Colossus eats gold/ wood its a 1:1 trade (1 resource for 1 HP). That means to fully heal an unupgraded Colossus would cost more than 1000 gold/ wood, which is 3 times the cost of training a new one.
His special is pretty underwhelming. I’d rather gather the resource and make 3 more than spend it healing just one. It’s a no-brainer. Please consider making his special a little more appealing with a 2:1 ratio at the least.
Thanks
Yes, I know, but it’s just so you don’t limit yourself to real pantheons or civs… you can put the Dravidians as real civs but since AoM is more mythological and ancient you can make more ancient Dravidians and have them take elements from Lemuria (like 2 meter tall villagers around there but without being giants like the new Chinese giant villagers) and some elements from Madagascar from the kingdom of Imerina -although this was much more from the colonial era)…
Sure, we’ll see how they do with the Chinese and if people like them maybe they’ll try the Indians (AoE Online released the Indians last October and visually they look great, another example would be the Mauryas from 0 AD)…and of course let’s remember the Indian civs from Dynasties of India…
I’d like to see more unofficial campaigns. Maybe if there is more incentive to create ones, like unique portraits for an uploaded campaign mod or something I dunno.
It’s disappointing to me that, among the Chinese wildlife that the new DLC is going to add (as shown by their availability in the editor and their already having entries in the Compendium), tigers don’t seem to be present. You would think that, considering all the tiger-based MUs as well as one infantry unit named after tigers, that tigers would be present as actual wildlife in the Chinese DLC. Could these be added in an update to the DLC sometime after launch?
After looking at the Chinese, I do have some suggestions:
- Make drought takeaway food from herdables over its duration. Make it kill trees if they are affected for long enough.
- Give the white tiger ‘stealth’ mode as its special ability. TBH its special ability currently looks underwhelming and lacks uniqueness.
- Add some more special abilities to older MUs, since some Chinese MUs have three! For example, Petsobeks could melt armor, reducing it for a time; or Satyr could be inspired by the presence of nearby nymphs (Dryads, Lampades, Nerieds etc) and fight stronger etc. Give Jormund Elver a better special ability. It should have steam breath that weakens/ warps the wood of ships, making them easier to destroy etc.
- Rethink the stealth visual. It looks pixilated. Can’t the units become semi-transparent?
How about adding a new myth unit to Baldr instead the fire giant (Hel also has that unit and an upgrade to it). Something like the wyvern (although it is not properly from norse mythology)
But the Colossus can eat the enemies gold mine.
Also trees are very abundant on most maps.
Yes, but on the off chance you are in your base you want him to heal quickly. I suppose the best balancing check would be to see who heals faster: Colossus or Vermilion Bird? If Vermilion Bird can heal to full health in less time and for free, then it is time to boost Colossus. There is also the issue that his only special attack is very underwhelming.
