It wouldn’t. Monotheistic religions should not be included in the game. It would be disrespectful.
When people made concepts for it they placed saints in the place of minor gods. Personally i think it would be an odd addition. Theres plenty of mythologies that would be a better fit for the way aom works.
It wouldn’t work…since we need mythological units…
Yes, let’s just leave out the Abrahamic pantheons in the game, since not only do they not fit, but we also run the risk of offending a lot of people… with Aztecs, Incas, Celts, Slavs, Yoruba, Babylonians, Persians and Indians plus the god packs we have pantheons to last us until 2030…
relics being more visible and more “special”/ immersively placed similar to this:
for every map, please.
(also please no christianity! thank you.)
I’d like to see more campaigns that are sequals to previous campaigns like how Fall of the Trident and Old Atlantis directly follow one another. Or prequals to already established campaigns. I’d love to see a campaign based on The Oddssey as you play exclusivley as Odysseus
Yeah, and even a more fleshed-out Trojan War campaign would be great with a few scenarios focusing on heroes like Achilles, Ajax, and Odysseus. They could even do one scenario where you play as the Trojans and control Hector, who has to defend his city against the Greeks, like they did one in the Fall of the Trident, where you had to attack Atlantis as Gargarensis.
I would love an option to alter the speed in settings.
The games is incredibly fast and I have to pivot between normal and slow
I find that slow is way too slow
and normal is way too fast for me.
AI on Ironwood map. Devs please prioritise AI to cut the wood to reach enemies.
Otherwise it’s a longgggg game
Plutus - god of wealth, success and agricultural yields
Focus: defense, siege, gold

God Power - Magnificent/Treasure Fortress
→ transforms one fortress into a magnificent fortress with improved stats and giving a gold-mine-aura* very slowly generating gold.
*good for syngergy with his myth unit

Myth unit: Gryphon
a big majestic monsterous unit which has increased stats and attack speed near gold mines and magnificent/treasure fortresses. can get an upgrade to improve its protection against pierce damage. Can fly very slowly.

Tech: Bronze Plumage - improves Gryphons to Gryphon Matriarchs with increased protection against pierce damage.

Tech: Successful Conquest - add additional health and hack armor to Petrobolos and Helepolis.

Tech: Elysian Fields - reduces slighlty the gold costs of everything near placed farms. (if you place barracks near a farm gold costs of units are decreased to a certain amount - doesn’t stack)
Good ideas overall, Gryphon and Elysian Fields in particular.
Elysian Fields makes me want to build more farms, which is quite the opposite of the current official design of the civ.
This is also a good opportunity to talk about the Wither god power for a moment. Wither has no synergy at all with how this DLC civ is designed, though that’s not a surprise, by the way.
Forest Fire, for example, has clear synergies, either with Valkyrie or RC raid, or it can be used to help win a fight later on.
On the other hand, Wither is simply there. It has no synergy at all with anything that the major or new minor gods bring to the table, feels very isolated and disconnected.
Add a few more cheats:
- A cheat that gives you four specific Chinese God Powers (to be inline with the other civ specific cheats)
- Wrath of the Gods 2: Give you access to four other mythic age destructive powers: Inferno, Implode, Great Flood and Dragon Typhoon
What / where did you get that template? Looks really nice.
Thank you. I created it by myself.
What I would like to see?
A revamped UI/UX with text layout and hierarchy fixes the foremost, then Caster Mode, Lobby/Multiplayer, Arena of the Gods/Gauntlet and Tech Tree
I’d like to see an Aboriginal Australian pantheon, Australian maps, wildlife, and all. Australia is hardly present in the franchise, and AoM is its only game where I can imagine a full-fledged civ based on that region. Aboriginal Trebuchets in AoE2 would get a little too jarring…
Still waiting for a female Pharaoh model for those with a female name. A Dwarf model for the Berserk would be nice, too.
Previously, I felt the Cthulhu Mythos might not be a good fit for this game, but recently I’ve changed my mind. I think adding a Cthulhu pantheon would increase its popularity and attract more players. I believe this faction is easy to design, unlike historical mythology which often sparks controversy among players. It would also add a genuine villainous force, facilitating the addition of cooperative gameplay. Cthulhu has a large and popular fanbase, and there aren’t many Cthulhu-themed RTS games on the market. Adding a Cthulhu faction would undoubtedly bring in more new players. After all, the fanbase for historical mythology isn’t very large, making this game somewhat niche.
There are licensing concerns with that, but I agree. Would be interesting.
If the Cthulu mythos had to be added then I prefer if they were added down the road. I think all of the requested ancient pantheons should be added first before we add something modern. That includes the Romans too. Romans before Cthulu.
Yes, I agree… I remember that in CoD BO3 and 4 the Keepers and Apothicons appeared (which were basically Lovecraftian factions) who had their last great war at the end of the 13th century between 1292 and 1299 (so the human followers would be ex-Crusaders and Saracens)… so I imagine something like the Knights Templar and Ayyubids from AoE 4 and the mythic units would be Margwas, Insanity Elementals, Parasites, Furies, Renegades and Lovecraftian units and the titan would be Azathoth or an Old Elder who would be a flying titan that absorbs units in its path…
okay i generally would like to see now the following three things:
- a good (at least!) japanese like implementation of the new Aztec pantheon if not better
- improved blood dlc
- continued patches and reworks for Demeter
everything else is just a bonus for me now currently.
